I think Bucks get a mulligan on this season - Dame was going through a divorce and didn't work out in the offseason due to not knowing where he'd be and was never in shape; Giannis was injured in the playoffs; they got a new coach midseason. Classic "give it another year" situation, imo.

Eh, I don't see it improving as currently constructed. They are aging out. Injuries will continue to happen. Jrue is better than Dame the same way Chauncey was better than a lot of his contemporaries; he wins the head-to-head battles.

Every champion needs to make that decision about when to blow it up. GS & MIL may both regret not pulling that trigger sooner. We'll see.

The Bucks should/could give it one more year, but I think if the Bucks don't get past the 2nd round this year they should really consider whether or not they should take a 7-8 draft pick offer for Giannis and a few draft picks for Dame... as well as what they can get for their other aging vets. They could have a massive jumpstart on a rebuild. They just don't have younger talent at the moment everyone on that team is older. Giannis is past his peak/prime already and has relied more on incredible athleticism than shooting so he may not age as gracefully as some of the other stars. Giannis never turned himself into a shooter.

Memphis roster is so weirdly constructed right now. They have 15 players under contract and they're over the 1at apron, they could just decline Kennard's option and be fine financially but they have so many guys out of position. They need a competent SF and a competent C, instead of start Bane at SF and JJJr at C.

Jaren Jackson Jr / Brandon Clarke / Zach Edey
Santi Aldama / GG Jackson / Jake LaRavia
Desmod Bane / Ziaire Willams / Yuta Watanabe
Marcus Smart / Luke Kennard / John Konchar
Ja Morant / Vincent Williams Jr / Derrick Rose

Duren would be a good fit for them since JJJ can space the floor from the 4.

Not sure who they'd be willing to send us though

Don't know why they'd want Duren when they just drafted Edey.

A veteran of 456 games in the NBA, Stanley Johnson is nearing a deal with Anadolu Efes, per Eurohoops sources. Johnson, 28, played for the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Pelicans, and Detroit Pistons in the league based in North America. After spending the 2023-24 campaign in the G League with the Stockton Kings, using his overseas options led to the Istanbul outfit. Reacting to parting ways with Will Clyburn, Efes has been scanning the market, focusing the search on forwards.

Had he even just been able to develop into a decent 3 point shooter, he’d have made tons in the NBA as a 3 and d.

Yeah. Same with defense. Trajan Langdon was the best shooter in his draft. He was a lottery pick, and within 3 years, he was playing overseas because he couldn't defend.

But I'd rather have a great defender, since that desire and hustle usually means they improve shooting, and most do.

Langdon played pre 3pt shooting explosion. He might of stuck around the NBA longer in the modern game where shooting is valued more. He was slow and had no handles but still that was a diff game.

The Lakers tried to pry Dwane Casey out of our front office to be an assistant coach on Redick's staff, but he's staying.

Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I wasn't sure if he was still working with us since the Langdon hire or not but it seems as least Tellum and Casey remain with some input in the front office. Keeping Casey is likely good since he did seemingly have a strong relationship with many of our young players.

F'king ESPN; half their NBA page is covered w/ Bronny. This is friggin ridiculous. LBJ trying waaaaay too hard to control the narrative when most people don't care and just want this story to go away.

Is that actually true?

ESPN is bad at many things but picking which stories draw the most eyeballs isn’t one of them.

Was gonna say — stupid tabloid-culture people are the problem. ESPN contributes by giving people what they want, but if people really cared about analysis and actual content, we’d have more Zach Lowe and less Kendrick Perkins. All the network cares about is clicks and ratings.

In this day of fast media and social media colliding with one another in an uncontrollable beast. To insinuate LeBron has any meaningful sway is interesting to say the least

Whatever meaningful sway he had, is way over in the past now. ESPN is just feeding what drives the most clicks. LeBron is just popular, there's really no significant sinister play here

I can't remember the last time I went to ESPN's website ... maybe to check a score or something?

Yeah, if I want insightful articles on the NBA or NFL, I'll go to the Ringer. If I just want news and information, I'll go here or maybe Reddit.
