So in the end our garbage (THJ) didnt require a FRP and/or a swap to be dumped and turned into Grimes lol

Love it, Nico cocked again.

Nico cooked.

Added Grimes and added cap space enough to re-sign DJJ in one move. Nico masterclass.

He plays the Green role, Hardy is the THJ role, though he sucked too many games.
Green should be gone IMO

I would not be surprised to see Green traded away for someone like KCP.

Yea i like it. I can nitpick and say wish we kept one of the 2nds, but to get rid of THJ, save money, not surrender a first, and get a player who will likely be better than Green, good deal

Adrian Wojnarowski: Dallas has traded Tim Hardaway Jr. and three second-round picks to Detroit for Quentin Grimes, sources tell ESPN.

Yes but Green isn't so cheap

Rookie contract are very valuables of course.

The more CAP goes up, the cheaper his contract gets. You have to look at the % of the cap because it changes from year to year. Doncic's new contract for example will be worth 35% of Mavs projected cap at that year. Combine that with Kyrie's and it's something around 25%. So then you have only 40% to distribute for the rest of the roster.

I'm giving you a rough example but just wanted to explain that it's not as bad as you'd think.

I do agree but than there's also the fact that Green is going into his fifth season and he's still barely playable in the playoffs...he really hasn't made the progress they were hoping he would...he has one good game a series, one solid and the rest he's horrible

He Lost the starter job to a minimum Player that few teams wanted...let that sink in

All i'm saying is, try and get something back because Nuggets already had problems last season with thin bench and losing KCP just means a lot more problems for them.

I don't want the same happen to Mavs. You can ship out Maxi and Green for KCP, thats combined 25M in salaries (which is amount KCP will probably want), in theory it could work. But then you're thin on wings.

I love it too.

Three second rounders is fine.

Cheers

Most importantly: THJ does not step one single second on the floor for the Mavs anymore
Secondly: got rid of his contact

I have a feeling the 25 FRP and Green will be swung for another deal in the coming days.

Nico has a nice bullpen now. Ajinca is 6'8, Omax is 6'9. Both potential 3&D wings.

I wanna see Nico make a big swing for someone like Jonathan Isaac.

Kleber + Green + '25 FRP

Isaac can be played on a minutes restriction since he will be sharing that PF spot with PJ anyway. Keep him healthy for a playoff run. Isaac can shut down anyone.

It is the first time since 2019 that THJ will not be in a Mavs uniform.

Mavericks fans all over the world, rejoice!

Does Tobias Harris still make sense even with Grimes and DJJ back?

I really like Green’s energy but after looking at what Grimes does he does seem a bit redundant. Green’s stock is also probably as high as it’s ever been (due to a good playoff run for him).
