If all these guys play, that's a strong team:

Davison, Springer, Scheierman, Walsh, Queta
Peterson, Watson

I can’t imagine Queta plays tbh. Would be nice though. I’m skeptical Springer plays as well. Still with two 23 year old seniors, year 3 Davidson and year 2 Walsh, the Celtics SL squad boasts loads of experience

That's Interesting. Cause you don't even need to be on one, to play in the Summer League.
Looks like he could stick all the way into Preseason?

I think it's a pretty standard deal that a lot of UDFA guys get.

The top UDFA guys get exhibit 10 deals (ensuring they will stick through summer league, into training camp) and the other UDFA guys who aren't as good just get a summer league contract which only guarantees they'll play summer league and doesn't give them any assurance of getting a training camp invite.

Well actually no..the tippity top UDFA guys will immediately sign a 2-way contract, right after the draft..like we did with Hauser in 2021.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Hal do you have a link for a full udfa tracker? Seems like the draft or t+t board or somewhere usually links one but I couldn’t find it.

It's that time of the season...

Exhibit 9 – One-Season, Non-Guaranteed Training Camp Contracts

Exhibit 9 allows teams to fill up their rosters through the preseason (up to 20 players) while limiting their exposure if a camp invite gets injured. Typically, a team is responsible for an injured player’s entire salary for the current season (or until he recovers). That risk could prevent an NBA franchise from adding prospects to the training camp roster.

The solution was to limit that risk. A team is only obligated to pay $6,000 for a player injured while signed to an Exhibit 9. The exhibit functionally expires if the player makes the regular-season roster. Exhibit 9s are very common over the offseason but aren’t accessible once the season begins.

Exhibit 10 – NBADL Bonus and Two-Way Player Conversion

Teams typically sign several players each offseason to Exhibit 10s, usually paired with Exhibit 9s. It allows a franchise to convert a player (specifically on a non-guaranteed one-year minimum) to a two-way contract. A player can sign for an Exhibit 10 bonus of up to $50,000. If converted, the two-way contract is guaranteed for that amount.

Additionally, a player who is waived (and clears waivers) before the season on Exhibit 10 can sign with the G League to play for the NBA team’s affiliate franchise. If that player sticks with the G League team for at least 60 days, they’ll receive their Exhibit 10 bonus. An affiliate player in the G League is technically a free agent eligible to sign with any NBA team.

Maybe they're eying Enaruna for the Maine Celtics.

It's crazy how many guys have already gotten signed haha.

Think every team has signed at least 1 but not more than 4 UDFA..

Celtics with just 1 - Enaruna.

Only guys I know for sure who will be on our SL team:

Walsh
Scheierman
Watson
Enaruna

2 SF and 2 PF..

Yeah, it should be fun. Those 2 guys can really get after it on D. Then you have the long range sniper (Scheierman) and the guy who can go and get a bucket off the dribble, attacking the basket (Enaruna).

Nice mix.

Need a PG to distribute the ball..maybe JD..

Awesome thank you. Agree on the above, will be fun to see who they land for PG/C, if it's in house or bring in a bunch of new guys.

Edit: Jesse Edwards got a two-way in MIN, they love their long guys. Could see Boston going after Cal's Aimaq for SL/Maine. Seems like decent defender/rebounder/passer for a big.

Sadly, the Celtics aren't playing the Champion Knicks, so we'd have a better idea of
what moves they have to make to catch up with New York...

DJ Burns, Jr. will play Summer league with the Cavs. Those games are on my watch schedule, so I can watch him destroy more highly-touted players.

Fardaws Aimaq — California
Aimaq comes in with an NBA-ready body while being one of the best rebounders in college basketball. Other separators among his peers in this class are his screening and passing. With more teams looking for more versatility from their fives, Aimaq fits the mold of playing in a specific role to give quality minutes off the bench.
As a screener, he’s functioning as a brick wall rather than only forcing defenders to make a decision. He’s good at timely rolling to the basket, but that is not where NBA teams will use him. As a passer, he shows offensive creativity and great touch, making him suitable to play as a five in an offense that focuses on ball movement. He makes quick decisions after the catch leading to him keeping the offense fluid. His court vision and feel for the game as a passer led to him continuously hitting cutters in his playmaking duties at California.

No reports of this guy signing yet he’d be a good fit for the SL squad based on how Boston plays.

For comparison, here's last year's summer league roster. Remember how good Jay Scrubb looked? He earned a 2-way in July, but then got the knee injury in training camp.

51 Udoka Azubuike C 6-10 23 Utah Jazz (NBA)
50 Olek Balcerowski C 7-1 22 Gran Canaria (Spain)
26 Kamar Baldwin G 6-1 25 Maine Celtics (G-League)
tbd Dalano Banton G 6-7 23 Toronto Raptors (NBA)
38 Justin Bean F 6-7 26 Memphis Hustle (G-League)
99 Justin Champagnie F 6-6 22 Boston Celtics (NBA)
20 J.D. Davison G 6-3 20 Boston Celtics (NBA)
45 Sam Griesel F 6-6 23 Nebraska (NCAA)
55 Reggie Kissoonlal C 7-0 27 Maine Celtics (G-League)
37 Mychal Mulder G 6-3 29 Sioux Falls Skyforce (G-League)
29 Jay Scrubb G 6-5 22 Lakeland Magic (G-League)
