^^^ Yeah, it's not like he'll be easy to trade if things go south. You have to really ask yourself at this point, does adding Paul George put us ahead of Boston and New York? I personally don't think that it does. You're still banking on either New York or Boston slipping or an injury occuring that knocks them off the throne. Then you have an injury prone George playing with an injury prone Embiid. I just don't see it. I don't see it working out.
What I do like is the fact that we didn't trade away our draft picks. We kept them and we should use them, and develop them. Suddenly we've got a youthful core with Maxey, Council, McCain, and hopefully Bona. I think we should continue to add younger free agents as opposed to older divas who are averaging 45 games players per year. Paul George is going to be a disaster here in my opinion. Sure, we're a playoff team with or without him, but it'll feel extremely forced and false if we sign him.
I think it's important to see where Joel Embiid is at with all of this. We would have easily locked down the 2nd seed this past season had he not gotten hurt and that's with him, Maxey and fillers. Not to mention Harris dragging us down. I don't know man, call me crazy, but I think we need to add 3-4 versatile free agents, bring back Oubre, Lowry, and Batum and run it back. Give McCain and Council minutes as well. You've got to find a way to develop youth through all of this.
