I'd be really really pissed with that return if I were a Hawks fan.

Dyson Daniels is a young prospect who could prove to make this trade look much different in a year in the way that NAW did. And Nance is a solid vet. Plus two picks.

Daniels is trash offensively, I hate this for the Hawks but I guess those NO picks ( are they protected ?)could be good if Zion flames out.

But he should be a GREAT help defensively to play next to Trae!

Would you do KAT for Ingram and Jones or McCollum and Jones? Which team says no? I’m fine with running it back with KAT, but this add a bit more depth and you still keep a 2nd scorer for Ant.

The acquisition of Dillingham makes that deal very unlikely.

Ingram’s next contract will be horrible he also is much worse than Kat in the playoffs.

Basing that off one series where he had to be the top option?

Well the Hawks got a few lottery tickets for Murray, only they weren't even powerball tickets they were scratch offs.
With all the assets the Pelicans had at their disposal, pretty sad return for a borderline All-Star on a bargain contract.

Head scratching move to not even get a decent starter back when they owe 2 unprotected 1sts and a swap to the Spurs over the next 3 years. Bottoming out will help them exactly zero.

Daniels sucks, one pick is lesser of NO/MIL in 27, that picks is gonna be in the 20's for sure.
The other is Lakers '25 with both AD and Lebron back. That will be high teens at worst barring a major injury.

Daniels played like 30 total minutes in the playoff series against OKC and two playin games for NO because his shooting is just that bad. If he is starting for Atlanta they are so ****. How were they not able to get one of Murphy or Herb Jones for Murray? Hawks made themselves worse and a west opponent for us better for no **** reason.

I put Naz or JMcD in for a trade for Murray. This really sucks. The west is so loaded. It's just a matter of which team's super star gets hurt.

Yea wolves could have easily beat this I think but no way I trade Jaden for Murray. I am fine with Rob being our future pg anyway.

The worst part about this is not that DJM is not a wolf, but rather that he is now a Pelican. The Pels when healthy were already dangerous, and now are more dangerous. The west is stacked enough with Memphis returning to form and OKC having another year of development under their young guys belts, (not to mention dropping weak link Giddey for Caruso, a move I still don’t understand from Chicago’s perspective.) The last thing we needed was a sell low from the Hawks (this was the best they could do for DJM?)

P.S topic creator should edit the thread name to Around the NBA 24-25.

I ain’t worried about the Pelicans though, wolves had problems with them last season because of Zion and the chances that Zion plays more than 65 games two seasons in a row , are low( he played 70 last season)

Pels lost JV and they gained DMJ. If they move Ingram for reasonable talent back then even when Zion is down they still have DMJ, CJM, Herb Jones, whoever they get for BI and a solid bench. I wouldn’t overlook them.

I want to point something out to some of the board members who have commented on Denver seeking Morris. I spent some time educating myself on Denver’s situation and even with losing KCP and dumping Jackson, they are only 1.2 mil under the tax. This means that Denver cannot use more than the tax payer exemption to recruit him, and if they do use it they cannot enter the second apron. Moreover despite the comments by Denver’s GM, I doubt they are really going to promote Braun to the starting lineup and just not replace KCP at all. Denver had a bad bench last year, and losing Jackson made it worse. If they have to try and salvage the KCP situation with Braun that will further weaken the bench.

I see Murray as a far superior player to Quickley.
