LeBron James has decided to opt out of his $51.4 million player option for the 24-25 season with the Los Angeles Lakers. James is expected to re-sign with the Lakers on a new contract.

James will be a free agent for the sixth time in his career following 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018.
