Ultimately, he didn't develop enough to warrant a guaranteed roster spot. Loves the pick at the time.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

He might be traded- $4 million could be needed in a trade to match salaries

Fingers crossed. I woke up hoping for good news and so far I’m 0-2.

Not sure why I do this to myself. The FO talk about not being able to just run it back and be ok but then they do and get even older.

My guy BBJ is gone. After that 27 point game against the Celtics during his rookie season I thought he would one day surplant PG or Kawhi down the line. Didn't happen. His jumper regressed big time this season along with injuries and at the wrong time. Somebody will give him another shot. Team is more than likely higher on Cam Christie and maybe Jordan Miller. Moussa is out too. That PG trade might be going down and they're clearing out some space.

Russ is back, but I want to see Bones play at the backup pg spot next season.

yeah i wouldn't say that I'd be thrilled with gs getting pg, but honestly speaking he doesn't have the right level of dawg in him (subjectively speaking) to push what is an already aging team to anything too scary. obviously just imo, though. I'd also add that if we got kuminga back that would make them that much older. and btw at this point if we didn't get kuminga and cp3 back I'd be pretty disappointed. I'm personally over this paul George player and I've no interest in the circus dynamics he brings year after year given his on court product.

the levels of sabotage he inflicted on this team with his meddling, pushing for John Wall when we needed to keep hart, pushing for Westbrook who torpedoed game after game in the playoffs, etc would have made doc Rivers proud.

sad to see that we're moving on from Boston. had higher hopes for him, too, but he just didn't develop any meaningful skills. hopefully some of the other prospects have a chance to turn into something good for us, because we could sure use it.

I didn’t realize Clippers have to make a decision on Kai Jones.

Looks like it's going to go all the way to deadline to hear if PG opts-in.

So there must be some kind of trade talks going on.

Otherwise the decision should be pretty cut and dry.

If PG is going to be traded, really hoping the Clippers can include Westbrook and Tucker in the trade too lol.

I’m going to be pissed if it all comes down to him returning. Especially after saying money and playing the right style of basketball is his priority and not a championship.

I can’t believe we have another 45 minutes just to get an answer. Maybe not even a complete one at that.

There has been a lot of drama for sure, but I’d be more disappointed if pg signed with another team and they got nothing to replace him. I’d even be happy with Derozan, but would prefer a youth, athleticism and draft picks

Manufactured Drama

Paul George will not announce his decision until the last second/minute. This keeps the 29 teams in the league on the edge of their seats, while leaving the fans to act like cartoon characters biting their nails in nervousness. They're going for the dramatic flair, theatrics, entertainment: make the Clippers feel loved, wanted and attractive.

Look at the other teams taking care of business while the Clippers play coy up until the last minute, like some WWE gimmick. This is bad PR practice, and that needs to stop.

I have a sickening feeling we're about to cave and give him the 4-year max. Either way, he's firmly in Andre Miller/Elton Brand territory at this point. He's screwed this franchise twice now.

If he is leaving, he made sure Indy and OKC got something in return on his way out of those teams but he won't do the same for us, despite how the front office bent over backwards to sign every single player he demanded, usually to the team's detriment. What a joke.

Warriors are out of it but can the Clippers still sign and trade him to another team with cap space but not teams which can sign him outright like Sixers, Magic or Spurs?

So did Clippers nix whatever possible trades with Warriors or Nuggets so he opted out? Probably has an offer in hand for the full 4-year max with some team, most likely Philly.

I read somewhere that pg would have to opt out in order to sign a no trade clause contract- perhaps the clippers offer him a 3 yr deal with a no trade clause to give him some security

At this point I'd rather just let PG go.

Team needs to get balanced out, financially, at PF, bench wings.

Him leaving is the best of two bad options. We'd at least be spared the worst of the new CBA and not have to deal with his tired routine anymore.
