Full MLE is likely the ceiling for a Font offer from someone else. I doubt we see that as you have to remember he's a RFA.

I think something like 3 years $33 million is more likely.

The multiple second rounders the Hawks gave up to get Bey was actually great value (I thought so at the time).

Trouble is we took back Wiseman instead. Should have just dealt with the Hawks.

I understood the gamble at the time, given Wiseman's pedigree coming into the draft but, yeah, in retrospect Knox might've been the best on the floor player in that trade (Or GPII, though he's been pretty banged up since then, I think).

Really depends on how the other free agents shake out. You just need 1 team with money to spend and no one worthwhile left.

Hopefully his RFA status keeps the focus on other guys while the money starts to dry up, and we can get him for closer to that.

I'd be pushing for 4 years and a declining number, which will make him super tradable in 2-3 years.

Maybe Detroit, maybe someone else. But I think he'll get about 25/yr.

25 mil per year for Tech is crazy

It is, but this is Detroit. We have to overpay.

Bring in Naji Marshall or Caleb Martin and I'm happy.

Same. He played well for us but have to remember it was a 16 game sample size on a bad team so his numbers will be a little inflated. I doubt any team comes along offering more than that.

Alrighty folks.

Free agency begins at 6 pm tomorrow evening (eastern time).

Any predictions for the opening minutes/hours of free agency? Now’s the last chance to get them in.

Mine? We sign absolutely nobody on day one. Options will look slim. We may see another trade earlier in the day to take on salary. No prediction on the particulars.

I don’t think Paul George or Klay Thompson sign with anyone on day one but quite a few smaller names fly off the board in the first few hours.

In other words, I’m not projecting this fresh agency to be all that different from last year. TL totally downplayed free agency in his presser.

EDIT: Forgot Tech. We’ll sign Tech tomorrow.

Not sure how the Bulls justify that amount.

Would be ideal. I think he goes back to LA or is a sign/trade.

I wonder if Harden has given him any info on the Sixers?

No idea.

Paul George prefers the West Coast though.

Prediction: re-sign Tec hopefully on a really team friendly deal.

Otherwise maybe use our cap space to get involved in 3 way deals where we take back bad salary in sign and trades

Yeah, despite people comparing Langdon's style to Weaver I think we'll see him sit and wait for teams to become desperate to unload contracts and then try and extract much value as possible, rather than blow it all straightaway.

If we are targeting Tobias Harris I also don't see it happening on the first day - I think Langdon will wait and see how the market looks for him first rather than committing to a potential overpay.

I think realistically PG stays at the clippers.
It would be interesting if harden could convince guys not to go to philly. Playing with embiid for max money has to be appealing
