I see the opposite.

He's now an expiring contract, which he wasn't a year ago.

We also have a summer to trade him now as opposed to just the deadline.

There aren't that many possibilities if teams are trading him to get rid of a bad contract. Are we taking on Jordan Poole? Because other than Poole, I don't see any other contracts out there that would warrant adding a 1st round pick to get rid off. What's more likely is that a team that is in win now mode wants to add Brown as a bench piece. With the crap season that he just had with us, I just don't see how he's worth more than a 2nd. At the most perhaps a late first but anything more than that would be a trade that is clearly in our favor.

It doesn't matter if the contract is bad. It's more about the taxes and consequences over spending will create. It's why we fleeced the Kings for McDaniels.

Looks like their plan was to wait to see who strikes out in FA and sell bruce on an alternate plan for teams

Wish Brown would be a bit more professional. He can’t **** on the Raptor fan base for being hostile. He has made it known he doesn’t want to be here since day one. A true professional would have been at least I’ll try to train and mentor the younger players.

Moving Brown will most like be for longer contracts. Don’t see any other way to skin the cat. He isn’t a big enough impact player to warrant high quality young players in a trade. So you either try to buy low on a guy like Wiggins or you take overpaid deadweight contracts like Duncan or Betrans. We also ain’t getting a ton of draft capital in return.

You should monitor your intake of Raptor homer content on youtube where everything Masai does is a steal and everyone he signs is a gem. You didn't fleece anybody. Davion Mitchell sucked and a 2nd rd is exactly what I expect Bruce Brown will get us.

Mcdaniels is the worst player in the NBA but he got 2 2nd round picks. How does a decent rotation player get a worse haul? Be logical.

I think you are very confused. Are we talking about a team getting a player that they want to use or are we talking about a team trying to offload bad contract to get under the tax. One second you are talking about tax implications the next you're comparing the quality of the two players.

If we are talking about salaries, no team is out there trying to offload that much salary to the point that is worth attaching a 1st rd pick to do so. This is why I mentioned Jordan Poole as an example. Poole is the only guy in the neighborhood that semi makes sense unless you want to get into Bradley Beal or Zach Lavine territory of bad contracts. There aren't that many possibilities to just throw out the "well duh salary dump therefore we get 1st rd pick". Give me the exact example of the team that is willing to do that. 4 million dollar player and 23 million dollar player aren't the same discussion.

The Bulls have Vucevic, the Hawks have Hunter, and there are other examples. Brown is a 20M expiring which is the standard salary for a 8-10 PPG role player in the NBA, especially a proven one

Vucevic + 1st for Bruce Brown is your idea of a trade? Go post that on the main board.

lol, I think your logic will lead to "Well Bulls are stupid therefore they will do that". The Bulls are trying to rebuild. They are trying to acquire picks, not giving picks away. Are they trying to sign a big free agent next year because they are not over the cap. It makes no sense at all. Sure it would be funny if they try to sign players in year 2 of a complete rebuild but I don't see it.

Like I said. Monitor your intake of raptor homer content either on youtube or around here. It would be great if another team makes a dumb trade and give the Raptors more than they deserve but don't go expecting it and be disappointed when it doesn't happen.

I didn't say Vucevic and a first is a good idea for Brown or it's on the table. Realistically it would take more than one first round pick to move off his contract. He's one of the worst starters in the league. A realistic trade would be Hunter + Griffin + 2nd, Griffin is traded now so it can't happen but something along those lines. Another scenario would be a team like OKC that has too many picks and needs veteran leadership. They could take him straight into cap space.

You can also calm down and stop with the dumb personal attacks.

So you want Vucevic + 1st + more stuff for Bruce Brown? Sorry I'm just trying to understand what exactly you're suggesting here.

Vucevic is significantly worse, on a worse contract, and he's 5+ years older. What do you think would equalize the value between them?

It was a team option so he was an expiring contract going into this summer as well

What are you talking about? Vucevic’s contract is $20 mill/yr and expires the season after this upcoming one. The Bulls aren’t anywhere near the luxury tax so there’s no incentive for them to give up picks just to get rid of him.

Because Bulls fans are the objective arbiters of the value of Vucevic versus Brown? Please.
