I am conflicted.
Just on basketball reasons - if it were that simple, then trade Deuce (he might be the cheapest starter in the league for the next 3 years). He is really on penciled in for about 15 mpg and we have two rookies who could fill a back up pg role and there are viable names in FA who could cover. We have plenty of proven guys for the 2 including DDV, Bridges, Hart and Alec Burks could be retained.
OTOH, iHart is a co-starter and played a pretty key role alongside Mitch. There are players who could replicate his role from early last year, but no affordable options who could step right into challenging Mitch for the starting job.

Other reasons:
We drafted and developed both Deuce and Mitch, it would be nice to see them stick.
Deuce is a rotation level player who we have locked in for a bargain basement price for multiple years. If he had a full year as a 6th man role, he would get paid 20M easily.

Whereas iHart IMo will struggle where ever he signs, Deuce would likely thrive.

Nope!! I agree with you 100! Deuce and say Drummond or Jalen Smith, plus you can bring back Precious. Love iHart but really don't want to sacrifice Deuce

drummond and jalen smith are major downgrades from ihart though. i think you have to sacrifice deuce. kolek seems like a nice replacement. plays tough and great passer.

Deuce is not a throw away he’s our elite back court defender for smaller guys and he will get better.

I'm with ya. It's far from a no-brainer, and I'm sure the FO has been wrestling with the question since the trade went down, but I'd prefer keeping Deuce if it came to that.

I'd trade Mitch if it allowed us to retain IHart. Obviously we'd all do the S&T scenario that would allow us to keep the entire band together. But I'd draw the line at Deuce.

Yea I think Mitch is the guy to cut bait with over Deuce & iHart. I like him, but he’s just way too injury prone. I’d pay a team a pick to take him (OKC?) for pure cap space, and just sign a backup center on a cheaper deal.

Do some of you not realize that there is only around 12 mpg available for Deuce now? Just the backup PG minutes behind Jalen. We also drafted Kolek.

Mikal, Donte, OG, Josh, and Julius will cover all of the 2/3/4 minutes. Donte and Josh are already having their minutes reduced with Mikal coming, so there is just no more room for Deuce unless injuries happen.

Even if Mitch is healthy and starting, he should only be playing 20-25 mpg tops which leaves at least half of the C minutes.

Isaiah is clearly a better player than Deuce by every metric, and fills a much bigger need for us. Hopefully it doesnt come down to losing Deuce, but it is what it is.

Pistons are always in the mix for dumping a bad salary it seems. I wouldn't be surprised if he landed there.
