Re: Free Agency
I believe Chicago also has a lottery protected 2025 from Portland (which seems unlikely to convey - not sure what it becomes after 2025)

I feel like for us, he could be a possible room exception type player ($8 million per year we get to use after spending our money) but I'm not sure he's a guy worth spending our actual cap space on. 20 MPG, solid defense, and good three point shooter. For sure an under the radar type guy he's really similar to what Grimes should/could have been for us and I'd rather a player like him be in our rotation than THjr to be honest.

Re: Free Agency
I rather use our FA money on 2 good players, rather than what we do in the past, and spread it over 3-4 mediocre guys. But like with coaching, players, etc., maybe no one wants to come to Detroit... Even when we were winning, we weren't attracting the Payton/Malones, etc.. It's even hard to evaluate a GM/President.

Heat fans are pretty high on Highsmith.
I know he's a great defender so gimme all the 3&D guys

If you're trying to change culture and become a better than average defensive team, Highsmith is the type of player you go for over someone like Toppin.

Think we bring in Tyus Jones to help with our turnover issues. We need a vet PG on this roster.

Re: Free Agency
What about Okoro given the Cleveland connection with Bickerstaff? I mean not ideal with Auser and Holland, but a talent who could be snatched.

I take all Pistons FA rumors with a big grain of salt, as agents will look for media leverage using the Pistons’ known cap space. Still, here you go.

He's very limited, but I kinda like him. Good defender is always at the right place and knows what to do.

I'd rather keep Stew... I can't imagine it being a good trade for us.

I definitely want to see Stew and all of the players under a new coach.
Hopefully everyone has made some improvements in the offseason and a coherent roster will increase everyone’s value.

I bet good money we'd get less than the first we still owe from the trade we acquired him.

I'm keeping Stew also, and hopefully we add at least one more guy who can both shoot and defend.

Re: Free Agency
Heading into free agency, Tyus Jones is looking for starting point guard money on the market. With Washington still in the early stages of a rebuild, there’s a growing sense the Wizards would be more open to a potential sign-and-trade, league sources told HoopsHype

Re: Free Agency
I've been a huge Stew advocate and believe his contract is going to wind up a bargain compared to how guys get paid under the new cap. He'd look great as a good teams 5th/6th man, but we need more of an impact player in our starting lineup.

I wouldn't hate an Ivey for Tyus trade if we also get 2025, 2026, and 2027 2nd round picks from the Wizards, who will likely be picking #31 - #33 range the next few seasons. It also frees up an extra $8 million more in cap space as well that we could go out and get another solid rotation piece for.
I guess that shows just how down I am on Ivey after last season... that I'd trade him for 3 good 2nd rounders and an extra $8 million in cap space if we could get Tyus Jones on a good/fair contract for four years to start next to Cade.
