This feels like the summer of 2016. Lots of guys getting badly overpaid.

I get it, the money is flowing into the league. But these are bad deals.

The cap in 2024 is 2.8 times the cap in 2005.

Bobby Simmons got a 5/$30M deal in 2005.

That's equivalent to 5/$84M (or $16.8M annual) now.

When I see a Patrick Williams contract, I just say to myself, that's a Bobby Simmons. Obi Toppin got a Brian Cardinal.
