How much value do you expect a guy who's probably a year away from retirement to have?

What exactly makes you think he's a year away from retirement?

Folks WE ARE NOT going to get AR15 for a 37 year old center. I don't Pelinka would even trade a 1st for Brook. The teams I think Brook could go to are: OKC, LAL, SAC, NOP, maybe Mavs.

Nothing in his play last year suggested he couldn't keep going a few more years if he wants to.

Lopez's contract in the current financial landscape is very solid and he still has the elite quality of rim protection, while also providing solid floor spacing. We aren't getting some young stud at the same salary slot, but I'd he shocked if he doesn't have good trade value. I'd be far more shocked if Portis had more.

I know you guys were wondering…Kendrick Perkins' official prediction for us is that we will trade for Bruce Brown.

No one's saying Brooks doesn't have value but discussing swaps for guys like Austin Reaves Is fantasy.

I'd agree Brook has more value than Bobby. I'm not sure we're gonna return a lot of value for Bobby.

Lakers are a perfect trade partner for us. I think they'd be interested in Brook or Bobby.

Brook Lopez is younger now than when Al Horford signed an extension 2 years ago to play in Boston 2 years after he turned 37. Nothing really suggests he's slowing down at a rate of turning down millions upon millions to continue playing basketball at a fairly high level anytime soon. Who knows though I guess.

Lakers get: Brook, Patty C
Bucks get: Hachimura, WCJ, Wood
Magic get: Reeves

Now move Bobby.

I think the Lakers move Reeves to open a starting spot to lure Klay.

C: WCJ, Wood, Barlow?
PF: Giannis, Hachimura, Smith
SF: Middleton, Beauchamp, Livingston
SG: KPJ? AJJ, AJG
PG: Dame, AJJ2

With Bobby still to deal.

Reeves is a little overrated but he'd be our best SG since Dead Leg Redd.

Reaves has value primarily because his contract is gonna look like peanuts with all these other guards getting paid with the cap spike. Can’t believe people are still buying the manufactured hype with him though. Dude’s been an absolute turnstile on defense in the playoffs.

Brook would have a lot more value if the big oaf would rebound the ball. I know we’ve always touted team rebounding being up with him in, but that really seems to be more of a byproduct of having Giannis. It was painfully brutal in the playoffs without him. It makes him even more of a situational big than he already is.

We aren’t selling from a position of power. Brook is a distressed asset. If everyone in the league knows we are trying to ship a guy out, and the destination pool for that guy is already limited due to cap logistics and team needs, the return is going to be below value no matter what. Not to mention the player in question is 36 years old and the team trading him is a championship contender other contenders do not want to help.

Multiple teams want him, so he's not a distressed asset. They're isn't a bunch of players like him. It doesn't matter if they know we want to move him. You either give us a fair deal, or you don't get a rim protecting 3 point shooting center.

Id happily take him. Unlike Beas, he can create and foul grift.

Saying we're not trading Brook to get Reaves isn't overvaluing him or believing in manufacturered hype. It's living on planet earth.
