Why did the Warriors not do this deal?

If Pels end up trading for Ayton and Ingram goes elsewhere, Pels are going to be nasty.
Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum, Trey Murphy III, Herb Jones, Zion Williamson, Ayton. Yeah that's a tough team. I think DA would love to be in New Orleans too, only a couple hours to fly to the Bahamas.

It is a Bradley Beal trade - wouldn't they be up against. Wiggins is expiring isn't he

So Ingram goes to the Kings - they get better
Ayton goes to the Pelicans - even losing Ingram, they probably get better - because they would get Huerter and Barnes - decent depth
Lakers -might get better
Mavs get Klay - I think they are better

Suns really would need to look at moving Durant and calling it

And Lavine played EVEN FEWER games than Beal this season.

They get Klay too maybe. That team looks pretty good IMO. Old like the Suns. But can be scary. Plus they get a lot of IQ with Bron, CP3, Redick.

I get - on paper that lavine for Wiggins and Paul seems like a no-brainer
but damn, that deal isn't looking great for the Suns today
Lavine has a player option in 2026/2027 - so basically - its Bradley Beal deal

Nassir Little for Russell Westbrook - or are they second apron hard capped too. Granted, looks like the Nuggets

Yep - there comes a time for everybody. The Warriors have the full MLE this year - first time in years I think. Curry is still getting his 150m or so; Kerr - just signed a new deal

If the West blows up - Durant might be gone at the deadline

Drummond $10M/2 years Sixers.

****, I wanted him badly as our backup C. Too expensive.

This is the way free agency is going to be .....

I wonder if
1) Nurkic has a market
2) Who the Suns could get to play Center as its not like they will even have cap space

They only have minimums to offer...not too many good players available for that

I understand they only have minimums - just more that - do the Suns REALLY need to sign a PG if the options are Holiday, Morris and Payne -- today?

Somebody brought up Oubre last year - don't need like last year there to be a signing right away

Granted, trades could take time

Sure...I guess thats not really what I took from your original post, but that I get.

The seemingly large number (though its anecdotal only) of guys opting INTO minimum Player Options (besides the Suns guys obviously) could indicate that theres a pretty cold market for guys looking for between the minimum and TMLE or NTMLE, meaning more guys could fall through the cracks and end up settling for the minimum as it all shakes out :dontknow:
Trying out this Substack thing. Suns and NBA thoughts. Check it out: https://hoopsnexus.substack.com/

Suns have two roster spots - so maybe they sign one person and kind of let things level out before the need to fill up the 15 man roster

But if Dunn is not an option, CP3 is out - -I am not rushing anything for Payne, Holiday or Morris.

So Chris Paul just got cut by GS. There's talk of us trying to woo him back. While I thought he was a great addition to the team and a true floor general, at his age it's hard to accept him in anything but a backup role and I don't see that happening as he's about as prideful as they come.

KCP going to the Eastern Conference is good news. Nuggets not wanting to spend money to put talent around Jokic is fine for the Suns. Meanwhile, the Clippers got that one player who exposed himself to the female Spurs employee, and now they sign KPJ who assaulted someone. Clippers just don't care what kind of players they get, as long as they are good basketball players I suppose.
