Drummond absolutely, positively sucks.

He would be an amazing older veteran floor general to backup Brunson. A guy that knows the in.and.outs of the game. The type of older vet you go after if you are trying to win a championship.

Barely any minutes for him. He won't be happy with DNPs.

We didn't address the true back up ball handler and pure 1 . McBride is not that guy. We need that guy to back up Brunson for a year or so rather than try and get a rookie in Kolek to do it right away.
The allure of making a championship run might appeal to him here. People want to come here now.

Two seasons ago everyone would have lol'd you off the board if you said he'd be a playoff starter and in demand for excess of $20milper as a FA.
Thibs big man role allows him to be able to take average bigs and get quality production out of them. Precious came in as an afterthought and yet looked like a stud for a stretch, he's just not the right size to do it for a whole season game in and game out.
You may lol at me now but who's to say that a 22 year old player of the right size, agility and skill set that has played professional ball for years can't come in and give a quality 20-25 mins a game in the type of role Thibs asks? Knicks just drafted a kid like that in the second round.
Who's to say a guy like Goga can't come in for the tax payer MLE and provide that 20-25 mpg in the type of big man role Thibs demands? Just because iHart leaves doesn't mean the Knicks are screwed or can't find someone else to do it, few thought iHart would when he initially came to NY.
That being said I still will believe that iHart returns because he wants to be in NY until he signs elsewhere and proves that wrong.

Its mostly IHarts passing that would be missed, plus the occasional outside shot.
Its enough that the knicks are at least putting themselves in the position to get him back if he is open to it.

Look at Huk's scouting vids, it's almost as if he was brought up in the exact same German big man philosophy so has the same big man skills from that training in Europe...oh wait, he was!
The guy passes, finishes around the basket, can handle the ball a little, has a similar push shot while also possessing the rebounding and basket protection Thibs requires.
He's also not a teenager, he's a 22 year old man and has a grown ass man's body, 7foot 245lbs with the athleticism and agility that is exactly what translate to the NBA.

You think they plan for the guy they drafted at #58 to be the backup center?
