CP3 no longer cares about winning a ship? He must be past that at this point in his career. I thought he'd give it one more go.

Yup. Just saw Woj say it is $11 million for one year. He just wanted that extra money I suppose. He'll probably end up taking a buy-out later in the season if he plays well enough to sign with a contender. This way, he still makes more money for the season but he still has a chance at a ring.

I don't see how NO gets worse. It was anticipated they were going to lose JV, and they are likely going to pursue DA from the Blazers. Pels needed a roster adjustment (not a major one), and they will be roughly in the same spot IMO or slightly better with Dejounte Murray.

With this move and seeing that the Blazers drafted a center who is probably already better than Ayton, I wouldn't be surprised to see if POR can offload him to NO in a trade involving Ingram.

We still don't have any point guards...

Also it's a bad sign if our free agents are all opting out and signing elsewhere, the locker room dynamics must have been awful if they no longer want to be here...

They lost Nance and Dyson though - two of their closers in tight games. Murray's awesome and Val was done for them, but they still have no C?

Hopefully they trade Ingram East!

It could be that, but it could also be about securing their bag as Ishbia isn't going to take care of everyone and especially not for the likes of Gordon, Lee, Okogie, Eubanks, and several others.

Jones is a nitwit bar none, and one would think they would have made a real effort to sign a FA PG other than relying on the failed experiment of "Point Book" for another season. He needs to lose his job and Ishbia just needs to pull that bandaid off already. We all know Thomas is calling the shots anyway, so he may as well make it official.

Maybe the teams he feels have a chance don't want him so he took the deal that offers the most money?

I always thought CP3 would want to pair with Wemby and be a mentor on that young Spurs team but thought he always wanted to stay near LA.

Sounds like a potential three team action where Blazers get Harrison Barnes, maybe Huerter, picks, Kings get Ingram, and Pelicans get DA. At least that is what makes sense for all three of those teams. Would prefer Ingram go to the East, but I don't see many teams having the kind of assets the Pelicans would want.

Where have you heard that the Pels will likely pursue Ayton? I just searched after I've seen this here and only found this...

The Pelicans are the betting favorite to be Deandre Ayton's next team if he's moved this offseason, per BetOnline.

The Pelicans are +300 to be Ayton's next team, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder at +400, the Chicago Bulls at +600, and the Los Angeles Clippers at +700.

Ayton played incredibly well down the stretch for the Blazers, averaging 22.7 points and 12.5 rebounds after the All-Star break.

Lee is gone for now. Maybe they resign him, but I'd rather they look elsewhere.

Plus their center depth really won't be worse if they land DA, but also added Missi to back him up. :dontknow:
