What would you have done? Trade him?

This was the only choice. Cade is their franchise guy, he gets the rookie max. It's a pretty simple decision and negotiation tbh unless Cade asked out or something.

Cade needs guys to pass to... And he still scored or got assists despite the double-triple teams. He had Hayes and Ivey. I believe in Cade.

Not sure I would have done any differently, considering the way the rookie max extensions are working recently. (Why did Scottie Barnes get an early extension, too?) But I’d like to see him play out the year and stay healthy. We’re paying ton of money for potential.

Nothing to see here. Paolo will also get a max contract next season. As long as the #1 pick is solid, he will get a max rookie extension.

Ant got one before Cade, and so did Zion despite all his injuries and issues.

It's strange that someone told ESPN that a deal wasn't close. If I'm having to guess its Cade's agent since Jeff Schwartz since they are usually the ones feeding lots of info to Woj & ESPN.

I knew this was coming im good with it.

Im expecting a massive season from Cade next year. A full healthy offseason unlike last year. Gotta get Cade some knock down shooters to space the floor for him then its GG.

It is something of a leap of faith. Cade hasn’t had a season where he’s worth anything close to this yet.

That doesn’t make it the wrong move- but we are banking on improvement here.
