Guess Klay might want to play with his dad in LA.

Dallas stills in play if Dubbs willing to help with sign and trade.

Lakers or Mavs left? Mavs via S&T and Lakers FA?

Now that CP3 is gone, we'll probably resign Klay now. We got the cap space now anyway.

shows you how bad an NBA front office can be. I mean the Mavs are either ignoring his play the last two years or just don't under how basketball works.

Klay was putting in a lot of effort on defense and making some good passes. He was way too comfortable in his role with the dubs and desperately needed a change of scenery. The question is going to be if he can keep this same mindset if things get rough through the regular season.

I really wonder if the the Mavs will ride through Klays slumps like we did

His defense was meh. He fouled 3 times in 18 mins. He did make some nice passes. The shooting was even worse than the stat line as one the threes was a miss that high double bounced in.

Mavs were -19 when he was on and +14 when he was off.

The question for me will be when does he start missing 4th quarters. Last year his 4th q stats were horrid. If that happens this year will Mavs bench him? If they do how will Klay react?

Wow, are fans really going to crap on a guy who brought so much joy to us just because he was a little cranky towards the end due to falling off after two catastrophic injuries?

it's an interesting subplot for sure

It got boring bashing Poole after he left, Klay should be good for a season or so.

I loved Klay's happy go lucky demeanor, but the last two years he has been his own worst enemy. He was trying extremely hard to push the issue on the court with extremely poor shot selection. Hope he gets a fresh reset, wish him well and the Mavs are a decent landing spot for him.

It's not gratuitous. It's just pointing out that Klay has started this season looking like the Klay of last season, which is why the team moved on from him.

Actually, the season hasn't started yet. And I know why the team moved on from him, which I definitely wanted them to do.

He wasn't just cranky, he was selfish to the point where it hurt the team badly. He was one of the big reasons last season was frustrating. And not only did we have to deal with his huge ego at a time when young players needed playing time over him, but I frequently saw low effort plays from him on defense/transition.

I wish him well with the Mavs and truly hope he does well for them. I want good things for Klay. But if he ends up being similar to the Klay we saw the last 2 seasons, I think it's fair to have some cathartic chuckles for a season, then go back to eternal respect for the good years.

He wish he got the 2 year offer back if yesterday is he norm. Which he was in most cases going against starters last year.

Cathartic chuckles for the pre-season maybe but please not for a whole season. Klay deserves much better from us than that.

Tonight, thus far: 0 for 9, 0 for 6, 4 TO, -14. He was a great Warrior, but I'm very glad he's gone. Imagine if he had signed that extension a couple years ago.
