Bridges dropped off a lot but if we give him a pass then Grant should be too, at least at a talent level. Also as "bad" as his deal is, Bridges when he's 29 is going to get something like 200 million for 4 years. All I'm saying is Grant SHOULD get a better return than we initially thought.
I agree. I think Grant can get a solid return, probably a 1 for 2 where the two are lesser guys and maybe 2 first rounders of some sort. Basically, I think he can return a similar package to what Jrue returned with maybe slightly less quality picks.
I'm not saying Grant is a bad contact player or negative value, but you just cant compare Bridges to him in terms of trade value. Nets got what they got for Bridges because of things Grant can't replicate. Knicks were uber-motivated to get him given their roster makeup. Plenty of teams would love to have Grant, but none will have that same level of motivation to get him. Bridges' is the kind of ironman the league hasn't seen in some time (hasn't missed a game since HS for godssake), Grant gets fairly easily banged up.
So yeah, I'm not disagreeing with you, Grant should net positive return and I think this is the summer for the Blazers to move him. I don't think Grant will have higher value after this summer, but I don't see the comp between what the Nets just did and what the Blazers may do with Jerami.
