Absolutely. If his other suitors dry up, we'd be fools not to exert the leverage it affords us

Charlotte is in a much better position to look to sign guys in the 2nd wave of FA.
Let the scarcity of FA money left start to dry up and guys will be looking at either taking the MLE for 12 or whatever Charlotte can offer. Also, would be the best time to try to capitalize on Miles SnT or taking on bad contracts for draft assets.

We are likely not a night 1 player.

Bridges is going thru what PJ went thru last summer imo, basically thought he was more valued by the league than he is.

Kind of funny that Oubre got a min the summer after averaging 20 with us and now Bridges is likely going to have to settle for a lesser deal.

Best case is someone gets desperate and SnTs for him but I definitely think he's in for a reality check with this next contract.

I would love to get Miles back cheaply. He owes us for all the BS.

Walls are closing in on Miles. Sixers and Magic officially out. Pretty much just Detroit and Charlotte in terms of teams that can give him a big payday. Or else sign and trade, which is still fine for us.

I don't know if it's the DV charge scaring teams off or the fact that our players are chronically undervalued but either way he's obviously not being viewed as a borderline star.

It would be great to get him for PJ money.

Don't forget about Monk. His value was tanked by his contract time as well. Now look at him.

Smart thing to do would be to get Miles back for market value and try to build the new culture/org up with him as a key piece. If it doesn't work, he's a tradable asset at whatever he signs for in all likelihood.

Utah still has a lot of cap space and they were rumored to be interested last year.

FWIW, Magic still have $30mm in cap space post KCP. This will not be Bridges money - it'll be make-a-run-at-Hartenstein money after they declined Mo.

EDIT: And just like that, Hartenstein to OKC. Now, curious how Magic make use of that remaining cap.

Good to know. I had checked on their space on spotrac and the site claimed they were currently over the cap, but I guess that was including holds they can waive. It's hard for me to imagine Miles choosing Utah though, even for a bit more money.

https://sports.yahoo.com/former-spartan-miles-bridges-reportedly-124513395.html

Aaron Johnson of Pistons Palace reported on Sunday that Detroit is no longer showing interest in signing the former Spartan during the NBA free agency period. Bridges is from Flint, Mich. and starred for the Spartans for a pair of seasons from 2016 – 2018.

With this and the Harris signing, we're looking at ORL with 30mm - who else could bid against us?

Cap Space wise at the moment, Philly has roughly 10 million, Magic have 27ish, Pistons around 25 million, Jazz 35 ish, Spurs 25ish.

There's also the element that I highly doubt Miles is going somewhere where he won't start. I don't see him starting for ORL or DET after their most recent FA signings.

Utah does make some sense I guess, but doesn't seem like a very Ainge move to blow all their cap space on someone like Miles when they're still rebuilding.

I know Utah is shopping Markkanen a bit, but they would be smart to give him an extension now, because they could do a raise and extension where they use some of their cap space this year to front load his contract. Pacers did that with Turner

If they did that, it would take a chunk out of their available cap space.

Read on Twitter

So if the math I've seen is mathing, the most cap space any team now has to offer Miles is $27M?
