An option that I had forgotten about is Portis, who the Bucks might move. Wouldn't want to use too much in the way of draft capital though.

If the Bucks move Portis he would be an absolutely fantastic get. Folks talk about wanting dawgs, that dude is a dawg. I was upset when we showed no interest when the Bucks got him.

Sixers have assets and a whole season to determine what they need. Sign the best forwards you can in FA and see if any of them click. And if not or a good deal comes along, use those assets effectively.

Could've been had perhaps, but.... I'd rather have Kelly. I would think that should set the market for Kelly at that number or below for the room exception

It's looking more and more like the new CBA is going to pinch a lot of players and keep role players from breaking the bank.

Spike said on the ricky that several insiders said to him that Oubre was disliked by his teammates. Take it with a grain of salt tho.

I get it, but then again Part 1 of this very thread was created under similar scrutiny and it didn't change anything

Was Spike saying that they aren’t bringing Oubre back?

I locked it because it was misleading. We don’t have an agreement with him yet. The welcome threads are for discussion after we acquire a player. However, we can discuss any updates here until it is official. Since he isn’t actually signed, the whole thread is people saying the thread is premature, and people arguing with a new guy who says the roads are bad.

That’s sad. But we have PG now.

Or we don’t?

There’s a good chance Paul George might play power forward for our team, similar to the setups of past Rockets, Celtics, and Knicks rosters. However, I expect we'll add more wings to our lineup. With Naji Marshall and Derrick Jones Jr. both out, I'm speculating on potential additions. Saddiq Bey could be a possibility, and Kelly Oubre seems like a default choice.

There's also a possibility we might acquire a true power forward and slide Paul George to small forward, which I’d prefer. This approach would balance our lineup and optimize George’s versatility.

Bey is recovering from ACL. He won't be ready until at least March 2025.

I think putting PG13 at the 4 hurts more than it helps b/c we need his wing defense.

No, just mentioned when they discussed Oubre coming back. It seems Oubre has been disliked by other teammates in his other teams too.

Could be one of the reasons he isn't getting good offers in gral, but who knows

I know that GSW hated him the year he was there, and I know he's flighty, but didn't know he was disliked. Huh. I thought he was good for the Sixers last year.

Seems like NBA got serious about tampering this offseason

To your latter point I understand don't get me wrong, but to the former, this offseason thread was created while the Sixers were still in the playoffs and the offseason wasn't official either. Just pointing out the hypocrisy sorry, please continue.
