Do they have enough money for PG still?

Can’t they sign PG first then make this official?

Oubre will be for the room exception. They should still have about 10M in cap space after signing George and Drummond.

Yeah, but that's about it, the rest are minimum contract holds for roster spots.
Maxey
Oubre/Gordon
PG
???
Embiid/Drummond
With the rookie they drafted, interesting how this is going to shape up...
Defense wins draft lotteries!

If we signed Paul George (which I would hate) and Marcus Morris Sr. (which I would be fine with) as is rumored - the lineup at this point would be something like this:
Tyrese Maxey / Jared McCain
Kelly Oubre / Eric Gordon
Paul George / Ricky Council IV
Marcus Morris / Paul Reed / Adem Bona
Joel Embiid / Andre Drummond
a slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting

Is Paul Reed fine the minimum? I think Embiid will chase Batum very hard to sign also.

Already reported that the Batum Battalion won't be returned.
Wild though that someone is happy about Mook being a starter next year.

Re: [Wojnarowski]: Oubre To Re-Sign In Philadelphia [2/$16.3M]
Does using a room MLE hardcap them at any apron?
They’re a bit weird because they’re counting Maxey as a $13M cap hold but eventually going to sign him for $35M. If they spend right up to their available cap and then use a room exception and bird rights extension on Maxey they’re going to be pushing the first apron.

I haven't seen anything that would indicate that it would, so I'm going to say no.
The potential hard cap issue they could run into is if they trade Paul Reed for a larger salary (more than 110%). I don't really think that's on the table though, because if they traded for a guy making 15M, they wouldn't even be able to fill out the roster with minimum salaries while staying below the first apron.

I'm pretty sure using the Room would hard cap a team at the 2nd apron at least. Pretty much everything hard-caps you at the 2nd apron.

Does anyone know the number on the Eric Gordon deal? If it’s a minimum and the Sixers decline Paul Reeds option I think they have enough room to fit George + Oubre + Drummond under the cap and still have the full room exception to play with.

I don't think so? At least I haven't seen it listed as a hard cap trigger and haven't heard it mentioned at all during this process (either the lead up to using it or now that they have)

Minimum. Oubre will be for the room. Assuming they cut Reed, they'll have more than the room in cap space remaining.

Based on Spotrac number they should have 59,634,358 in room if they don’t pick up the Reed option before signing PG/Ubre but including Drummonds number.
PG’s max starts at 49,205,800 and Ubre starts at 6mm, which leaves 4,428,558 to play with (adding back a min cap hold the number is 5,585,711 - which is slightly above the taxpayer MLE) while keeping the room exception available.
The other route Philly could go is using the room exception for Ubre and having 10.6mm to spend on another player. My assumption is that they have a handshake with Ubre on price and will figure out how to work it on the cap sheet as the remainder of the offseason plays out

It seems this is a below market deal for Oubre. Did Philly get a hometown discount?
Derrick Jones got 3 for $30mm. Maybe Oubre wants to play one more season on a good team, opt out, and cash in next free agent season?

Eh, I don't think it's really below market. DJJ is a marginally better player and got marginally more money. Years kinda feel like a wash (DJJ got 3 years, KO got 2 with a player option).

That leaves $9.2M in space. K. Oubre (Room Exception) and E. Gordon (Veteran Minimum) will sign after cap space is all used.

Re: [Wojnarowski]: Oubre To Re-Sign In Philadelphia [2/$16.3M]
What can Philly give Oubre next year if he plays well?
This establishes early bird rights right? So should be able to give him a really ugly close to 20 mil per year..
But I think it’s fair value for Oubre as is.
