Lakers should jump on Jalen Smith

Yup I hope not

But is Klay the answer?

Is he even better than Melton or Jalen Smith?

Our target also probably depends on what trades we can make

If we can trade Dlo for a big, then thats solves that and we know we are signing a guard or wing

If we can trade DLo for a wing, then we are signing a big or a guard. Or can then even look to move Rui for a big and then its clear we are signing a guard

Christie for about the same price as Valanciunas or CP3..

Weird move, plus he got a player option. Rob is super dumb.

So CP3 is as good as Klay. If Lakers pay Klay more than $10m then they failed

They have the cap? They also just lost DDJ. More shooting, no D?

Pelinka is either cooking a bigger trade or completely inept at his job. I find it hard to believe that Russell + any combination of Wood/Reddish/Hayes + protected pick is that hard to trade. It just can't be

BTW whatta f is that Christie deal, who would've give him a contract that is more than TMLE

Klay to Mavs or Lakers. Don’t see another team where it happens.

I know Klay is meh now and CP3 is nowhere near what he was just two seasons ago, but man idk what the Warriors are gonna do.

The player option is **** dumb and I don’t understand why he keeps doing it rather than as an olive branch to the agents. Christie on the other hand is good and you can thank Ham for overplaying Redish and Prince and keeping his value suppressed. I don’t mind this as the real upgrades almost need to come via multiple trades.

I think Christie is fine but at the very least, Ham.underusinh him could have had a bright spot by allowing Lakers to sign him at something like 4/20 like he would have got on the market.

Because Ham didn't play him we don't really know how legit he is. We know he might be good in certain spots but his EPM and LEBRON paint him as awful.

DLo for DeMar makes sense at least now that Lakers have added Knecht.

Something that goes largely unsaid and ignored when ascribing “superteam” status to any team James is on is how many teams that fielded superstar/star laden rosters did nothing and won nothing.

Suns with Durant, Booker, Beal
Clippers with a combo of Kawhi, PG13 and then Harden
Brooklyn with Durant, Harden, Kyrie
Sixers with Embiid, Butler, Simmons (when he was thought a top player)
Sixers with Embiid and Harden

^^These teams did not make a single Finals appearance let alone win a title.

Zimpy made a post about this in the past.
