I’m just thrilled he’s off the Knicks. Hart was awesome in the playoffs. Are the Knicks left with just Robinson and Achiuwa?

Yeah but Isaiah Hartenstein was a more impactful player in the playoffs when it mattered most. I like Harris as a person but $26 million a year is way too much. Good luck Detroit. But he will probably play well with zero pressure on him.

Infact the robbey is on the Tobias side, not on iHart

Goat

The GOAT is Torrel Harris.

Ihart was a bit of an overpay for a competent if unspectacular player. I mean this with all sincerity, I wouldn't take Tobias back on a minimum. He robbed the **** out of Detroit (and us).

Harris to his credit probably read the book "How to get paid in the NBA""

Edit. In thinking about it. Harris has managed to get paid very well for being an average NBA player when he was expected to be above average. Good for him.

So is Paul Reed going to be our PF ? Does Nurse still see Pascal vibes in him?

iHart the player helps OKC today (and they need to use cap too) and iHart the contract helps OKC tomorrow (easy filler in a trade) and the day after tomorrow (expires when OCK needs to extend their yongsters).

Win-win-win imho

I think we might start the season with him as our PF. Mid season Morey may start using our picks to upgrade the position if he fails.

No, god no. Guessing that we either are eyeing someone with our last FA money (i.e. Reed's contract $) or else plan to start shopping the Reed non-g'd deal with some picks for a vaguely starting caliber PF.

I think so. I don't think Nurse would have said that if he didn't mean it. There are those that argue that Reed is a center and there are those that think he's a power forward. I personally think he's a power forward and if he's improved his shooting, the. It'll be ok with him in that spot.

Much rather have Hartenstein and his contract now versus Tobias and his contract now.

Nah, he's going to be a Laker. Oubre signing was pretty much the final nail.

By the way, do we have a sense of what money is left? Here's my most optimistic, cap-amateur math on it:
Cap= 141
Guaranteed
Embiid 51
Maxey 13
Drummond 5
PG 49
McCain 3
Reed (8, fully cuttable)
Council (2, fully cuttable)
Non-g'd
Gordon (I think he could only count as $1m technically, if left as a min cap-hold for now)
Oubre (I think he would come via the exception so wouldn't have to count now? I'll roll with that for now, maybe BS)

That would put us at about $122m guaranteed, $132 if you count Reed+Council. Add in another $6-7m for cap-holds ($1m each x 6-7 spots left), and we're at like $128m. Add in another $1-1.5m for Bona too. So that would leave us with about $11m of pure cap space, if we wanted to clear it.

Or if Oubre is coming into space, and we keep Council, that would take us to about the cap limit--but then would we still have the exception to use?

Wonder what number he'll wear. I'll guess 1, 33, or 17.

If they sign Klay they can contend for the 2025 and 2015 NBA titles.

Gordon, George, and Klay together averaged around 60 combined in 2015.

We'd have to get around child labor laws with Maxey but we got the nicest team from the Obama administration.
