Hartenstein put up 7/8 and is getting paid nearly 30 million a year. These deals are absolutely wild. Glad Poeltl was a free agent last year. He’s on a bargain deal.

Despite the overpay, he’s a great fit in OKC. They’ve gone out and addressed some of their weaknesses. West is getting worse, OKC is getting better.

With full starter minutes, he's more like a 8/12 with 1.5 blocks and 1.5 steals though.

Front loaded, non-guaranteed 3rd year, addresses one of their biggest needs. Good deal for OKC.

About 9/9 as a starter. Good steals and blocks averages though. Underrated passer as well.

Hartenstein got a lot, but it's fine for OKC because it's frontloaded, and it won't impact their ability to sign their stars.

Overpay in a vacuum for sure, but not for OKC. They see their window and have to go all in, if it was a 4/5 year deal with a PO or something, yeah I'd agree. But, a 3 year, this is nothing.

Hartenstein was exposed badly in the Knicks series, especially the last two games, but he has a decent complementary skill set to Chet, who will carry the bulk of the minutes at the 5.

The only deal I've seen so far that I wish the Raptors got instead was Jalen Smith for 3/$27M. Fantastic deal, would've been a nice fit here.

Plus, he was the best center on the market so they had to overpay a bit. They had to go all in because of their rebounding issues.

Why do that, when you could have a low value trade chip like BB.

They overpaid a lot. Not just a bit. But it won’t really impact them this year. They got guys still on rookie contracts. Chet and Jalen won’t be getting their deals until 2025 I believe.

Jalen Smith is a guy who is good in theory but isn’t actually good. Couldn’t even hold on to back up spot on Indiana.

Pretty sure it's a case of Chet being the 4 and Hartenstein being the dirty work bruiser at the 5.

They still need a shot creator outside of Shai - send them GTJ for some picks.

They may already have those guys. OKC banking on the growth of their young guys like Chet and Williams to step up next year, which i am expecting.

Damn, there goes one of the few teams that could have traded for Poeltl.

He put up 10/5.5/1 on 59/42/69 splits in 17mpg, and is 24.
BB put up 10/4/3 on 48/32/83 splits in 26mpgs, and is 28.

One costs 9mil, the other 23mil. If you are going to have a guy on a roster who is good in theory but actually isn't, you go for the younger, cheaper, and better one. Smith has played 3 seasons, assuming this is where his career peaks is pretty ridiculous.

We aren't exactly overflowing with talent.
