Yikes Mitchell. Starting to think it may not happen with him. Guy cannot stay on the field.

He was hitting the ball pretty well too. He just has the grim reaper hanging over his shoulder.

Such a bummer. Probably one of the most physically gifted dudes in all of baseball and it's his body that keeps letting him down.

With his history I'm surprised he's somehow totally fine but I'll take it.

Ho-hum, Logan Henderson starts tonight's game with five strikeouts through two innings.

Why was Boeve ranked so low? Based on how you talked about him I thought he'd be a surefire top 5 guy in the system

I honestly don't know. Once I got to around 13 I was sure they forgot about him.

Interesting, I believe this is the first fairly reputable rankings update we've gotten during the season and a good barometer for what prospects value might be at the deadline

It's weird. Last month Boeve was MLB Pipeline's #10 overall pure hitter.

Image

Last week he was McCalvy's best organizational prospect in AA.

There's really no way he's not a top ten prospect.

I'll be curious to see how JS's list compares when Pipeline, Fangraphs, etc. do their updates

BA Updated mock draft today.

17. Brewers — Cam Smith, 3B, Florida State
Smith has action throughout the teens, and it doesn’t seem like he should be on the board too much longer than this given his impressive season and physical tools. If not Smith, other college bats like King, Benge, Lomavita and Honeycutt could make sense. William Schmidt also makes sense for the Brewers (but it sounds like not with this pick), and on the college side, this is starting to become Jurrangelo Cijntje territory. So, there are a lot of options for Milwaukee here.

Pipeline updated:

#22 - Quero
#33 - Misiorowski
#34 - Black
#96 - Pratt

Misi drops 12 spots, Cooper makes his debut.

Pratt looked like a Draft sleeper last year as a sixth-round pick and has drawn raves for his defensive consistency at shortstop from evaluators following his full-season debut. He’s posted a .311 average and .407 OBP for Carolina and should only add power from here.
