I think so. I don't think Nurse would have said that if he didn't mean it. There are those that argue that Reed is a center and there are those that think he's a power forward. I personally think he's a power forward and if he's improved his shooting, the. It'll be ok with him in that spot.

Damn where have I heard this before. Oh yes there are some that think Ben Simmons is a forward and other think he is a PG if he could just improve his shooting and keep defenses honest. Some things in 76ers land never change.

Ben Simmons was being touted and relied upon like a superstar. Paul Reed is a role player. Reed has the lateral quickness to defend at the 4 spot. Ideally you'd want him to have a more reliable three-ball if he is going to play there. My fear is with Reed on the floor, our defense and rebounding improve, but we're playing 4V5 on offense. It's not out of the question to assume he's working on his shot right now as we speak. He was able to take and make threes for us last year. Maybe he improves? He seems like a worker, so I'm not counting him out just yet. He was clearly undersized at the center position. If Nurse sees shades of Siakam in Reed, then so be it. If we end up trading him, then that's fine too. If there's a deal out there, I'd gladly take it. What are your options? Who do you see as a viable fit at the 4 spot? I understand Paul George will probably be there, but we still need someone else. What names do you like?

Reed has proven time and time again he's too spastic to be trusted. He has his moments, but they are too few and far between.

Maybe he goes to the Wizards or something and just plays through all his weirdness, gets it out of his system, and ends up a useful rotation player down the line.

Of those, I think Walker, Harris and Saric are most likely to take a vet min.

Harris is a A.Minz client so....

I really want Marcus Smart. I know it caps us at the 1st apron but he’d be such a good fit between Maxey and George.

Then you re-sign Lowry for the vet min and make every team absolutely hate playing us.

Do the Sixers have 9 million to spend only if they waive Reed or do they have it even if they don't?

Dare I dream that Morey and the gang can convince DDR to do a 1+1 for rest of our cap or S&T?

Im guessing we’ll go for something like this. But im still hoping we can play with more size

Maxey/Lowry (minimum?)
Kelly Oubre/Eric Gordon
Caleb Martin (remaining cap?)
Paul George
Joel Embiid/Andre Drummond

We don't have enough $ to sign C.Martin

You missed out on all the rookies. McCain and Bona should definitely get some run.

Maybe by waiving Reed’s contract?

He opted out a 7.7M contract. We have 9M
Some team is going to offer more, even only to make him a future trade chip, imho

I’m coming around to the idea that we keep Reed. The more I look at PF candidates the more I realize that Reed compares favorably to a lot of them.

He started gaining confidence in his shot at the end of last year & hopefully comes back even better. Crucially, swapping PG for Tobias completely changes our floor spacing and enables double big lineups.

Maxey/Lowry
Oubre/Gordon/McCain
PG/Council
Reed/Bona
Embiid/Drummond

That’s actually a pretty damn good lineup with a balance of shooting, defense, and rebounding. Might not be our everyday starting 5 but something we can play consistently.

Im hoping we go after Xavier Tillman instead of Martin

Maxey/Lowry?
Eric Gordon/Jared McCain
Paul George/Kelly Oubre
Xavier Tillman/Paul George?
Joel Embiid/Drummond

I mean if u want to match that 6’8 230 lb PF size then Dorian Finney Smith is your guy, although Paul George is 6’8 220 himself. If you want to go bigger Bobby Portis may be available. I know Bucks want to get off of Lopez but Portis contract is better and he fits today’s NBA better.

Yeah, if no other major moves just give Reed a shot. I’d really like us to resign Melton as well, need his defense and fits nice with either McCain or Maxey. I like having two lunch pail guys around Jo, Max and PG in the starting lineup. Oubre is more of a super sub to me where he can come in off the bench and just create chaos lol.
always a jump shot away.

Yeah. Slowly warming up to this idea also.
