Re: Potential Zach Trade Partners? Playoff Edition.
I have turned around and am now on the "keep Zach and try to rebuild his value" road. His value isn't going to get any worse and he likely won't be the difference between making and missing the playoffs.

Re: Potential Zach Trade Partners? Playoff Edition.
I think DET just became more in play for Zach
They add Harris, Moore and THJ so with all the kids they have, just drafted Holland with the new owner and HC Cade's big extension. Young players don't develop sitting on the bench and veterans signed for the long haul don't like short minutes.
Harris
THJ Holland
Duren
Cade Sasser
Thompson Moore jr
Stewart and Ivey look like excess that they aren't going to have minutes for so swap them for Zach , he starts and have THJ come off the bench
The Bulls find a way to move Vuc, Carter and Terry. Stewart starts with Smith behind him Ivey comes off the bench behind Patrick and Coby, The hottest hands get the minutes that week
Imagine the Bulls find a way to add Paul Reed, there's a PF 3rd center, you've got Craig, Phillips and later in the year maybe Buzelis,

Problem is that the Bulls only have one “extra” roster space to take players back into. I guess 2 with Bitim not being guaranteed? Also salaries - they would need to have THJ coming to the Bulls to match.
I think LaVine is here to start the season (and kind of doubt that Detroit has much interest, anyway).

I think the way things are going, if we let Demar walk and Zach is 100% recovered he will go back to putting up efficient offensive numbers again. Doesn’t mean we will rack up wins, just that I could see him thriving with the new players around him.
Maybe a deal comes eventually where we’re not having to attach assets with him. Otherwise I’m fine with keeping him to attempt to rehab his value.

Or Zach gets another injury and Bulls get stuck with him for the rest of his contract. There’s more chances of that happening than him gaining any trade value.
Everyone already knows who Zach is,how he plays and what his strengths/weaknesses are.

Yeah I don’t mind them arguing just that’s in the wrong place. Make another thread and go at it there.

Zach starts the season on a mission to show the league he can still play.
Wemby and the Spurs start hot.
I can def see a Zach Spurs trade. He fits next to Wemby perfectly. With Castle as the PG and defender and Pop there it all fits.
Stay patient.

IMO the big difference is recency bias - before hitting DL, Zach wasn't playing as well as he was in 2022-23. So there's a big question of which Zach you get, then the injury issue.
If he comes back and is playing more like 22-23 Zach, I think he clearly SHOULD have value given the contracts being tossed around and the cap. If he's more like 23-24 Zach, then probably not. That's a big distinction to me. Whatever it is, I'd rather keep him then surrender an asset to offload him, he's not that kind of cancer and neither is he that kind of winmaker to drive the Bulls to 10 more wins than otherwise.

Zach being on a mission to show the league he can still play coincides with us losing games. It's a win-win.

Re: Potential Zach Trade Partners? Playoff Edition.
Is it that crazy and/or legal
Zach to CHA, as their starting SG since they have nobody looking like one, place holder while they see how healthy Ball can stay, how quickly Miller grows, if M Williams is their center
Miller
G Williams Salaun
M Williams Richards
Lavine
Ball Jackson Mann
the Bulls S&T Miles Bridges
take Bertans expiring
Micic who they don't need

Miller is 6' 9" - 10", he's one of their Fs depending on what you want to call Miles Bridges, SF or PF. Guards are Mann & Martin, definitely could use a big upgrade even w/ Melo healthy.

A Dlo/Rui package would be a home run at this point. Bulls could(maybe) flip Dlo for an a bad expiring+asset.

What about Rui (Or D'Lo), Vincent and Vanderbilt for Zach and Craig?
Here to argue about nonsensical things and suck away your joy.

They also have Josh Green now too.

I don't care for Vincent's contract. He and Jevon Carter are the same player. Vanderbilt? eh, he's solid.
