If he's not retiring you hope the Sixers let him walk because they have someone better in the works.

They’re in the 2nd apron. They’ll be signing bet minimum guys this season to fill bench and hope to repeat because next season when this Derrick White deal and Tatum Supermax kicks in, they’ll have to let go of one of Jrue/KP. Possibly both.

Except he can't shoot. Hopefully he can develop a decent 3-ball in time.

It's possible Nicolas wants to help his fellow countryman Wemby to develop.
So there's nothing you can do. Spurs have cap too

Yeah I think you slot Reed in as your starting power forward. He's not going to be expected to play 35 minutes a night, but he can go for 24 at that spot. It allows us to go small for the other half of the game. Where are all the people on here that wanted to see Reed and Embiid next to each other for a some time? Reed has gained a lot of experience over the last two years. He's a young vet at this point. I say gamble on him, don't bet against him just yet. I think Nurse envisioned Reed playing next to Embiid for stretches, but it didn't happen because Bamba was ass as a backup and Embiid got injured. Reed had no choice but to play the backup center spot. Do you all remember the Detroit game where Reed started and ended up having a great game? Rivers quickly went on to say that we wouldn't be doing a Paul Reed victory tour? The way Reed played in that game is exactly how I envision him playing as a starter and in that game he was Siakam lite. I may be wrong, but I think Reed is our starting power forward next season. I think we need to sign a couple more versatile wings. Taurean Prince is still out there.

I'd have interest in Šarić or Chuma Okeke on a minimum to add to the forward mix

Bodner said this morning he'd put the chances that Paul Reed is on the Sixers by opening day at about 2%. He thinks he's gone because the Sixers need one more piece and he(either being cut or traded) is the best way to get that piece.

He did have a significant bump in FT% his sophomore year going from 57% to 70% so I’m hoping that’s a sign of things to come in terms of shooting improvement. But if he’s the one non-shooter on the court I’m hoping he can make it work because of his vertically on PnR and in the dunker spot. It would at least give us an option to run a Nuggets style.

Paul Reed can’t defend on the perimeter. Having him on the court for long stretches would make our D terrible…if he doesn’t foul out in 10 mins.

It really is a shame that we never got to see more of Reed and Embiid together. At least in theory I could see it working, with Embiid at the elbow and Reed roaming the baseline either shooting corner threes or in the dunker spot, then crashing the glass. FWIW they had a +12 net rating together last season (117 offense and 105 defense). Just don't ask the sample size. In the end that's a pretty big risk for a team expecting to compete next year.

Neither Reed nor Dario can do it. I don't know what people see, but they seem to be stuck in the game of the 90s. Nowadays playing with them as a 4 is suicide. The defence would be pitiful with 4 quick players, which is the vast majority.

I've never been a Kyle Anderson fan. I know people here like him. He has size, versatility, but he just stinks offensively. I hate his offensive game. Not a good shooter, doesn't really get by defenders. Eh. I've never wanted him.

Especially when you already have Maxey who can be picked on on D. Could you imagine a team running a PNR with Maxey and Reed defending? We’d be cooked every time.

Clippers fans acting the same about losing PG as we are about losing Tobias is not reassuring.

Harris is gonna somehow buy the team because he was grown in a lab to make us hate him.

I fully agree.
