Paul George, Sixers Agree To Four-Year, $212M Deal

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jul 1, 2024 11:17 am

Paul George and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed to a four-year, $212 million contract. George will join a core of Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

George and agnet Aaron Mintz met with Daryl Morey, Josh Harris, Elton Brand, Julius Erving and Peter Dinwiddie in Los Angeles to reach the agreement with the Sixers.

Earlier in the day, George and the Los Angeles Clippers met where it was determined neither side would move off their long held negotiating position. George continued to see a four-year deal, while the Clippers would only offer a three-year contract. The Clippers announced that George intended to leave the franchise and they began to pursue other targets.

George also had interest in joining the Golden State Warriors on an opt-in-and-trade, but the sides were not able to find a deal that the Clippers would accept.

George joined the Clippers in 2019 in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder involving Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, four unprotected picks and two pick swaps. George has been an All-Star in three of the past four seasons. In 23-24, George played in 74 games and averaged 22.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists while shooting 41.3 percent on three-pointers.

Sixers fans will be blessed with around 35 total games with all of their core big 3 being healthy in the regular season.

This is a match made in heaven. Joel loves to blame others, and Pandemic P, also loves blaming others, when they both fail to make the ECF, they'll blame everyone else.

I'm go on a limb and say not only this is not enough to beat Boston but this is a bad desperate move. He's 35 and not in his prime.

I'm getting Elton Brand and Chris Webber flashbacks right now.
I don't think I Trust The Process anymore! :banghead:
We are the originals! We are the Philadelphia 76ers!

Embiid and Pandemic P, have played 31 playoff series (not as teammates). Embiid is 5-7 (0-5 ECS) and Pandemic P 8-11 (0-1 WCF, 0-2 ECF). This blame game is about to be GENERATIONAL!!!
