Miles seemingly has no option left besides a sign & trade or staying here. He's not going to Philly or Detroit or Orlando now.

This is definitely a tank year. They want to keep the Spurs pick and this draft is much stronger too, #5 in that draft would probably be #1 in this one.

We have 20 million in cap space we could use that has nothing to do with Miles. If we choose not to spend that it is because we are being cheap not because of Miles.

I thought Peterson said the plan was to use the cap space to take on contacts in exchange for assets like the Jackson deal? Roster size limits things currently as well, no? To not use the cap space at all would be cheap though.

Who was Detroit bidding against? That’s a lot for Harris, maybe to keep the years short

Trying to hit the salary floor and stealth tank?

I'm trying to give Langdon the benefit of the doubt. I still don't know why they are allergic to adding shooting.

Tobias and Hardaway are both pretty solid shooters tbf.

Well we need some more dominoes to fall and then we might see some teams trying to offload some deals to stay out of the tax, or open up enough space for MLE type of signings. Wouldn't shock me if the Reggie Jackson deal gets expanded, since it hasn't gone final yet.

I am still rooting for Gary Trent or Gary Harris along with signing Bridges to a reasonable deal.

That at least makes us decent and if younger guys emerge we should be able to move off those contracts in the next year or so.

Trent's one of those guys who might wind up getting the short end of the money stick in this FA. Would be a great get if we benefit from a lack of suitors/cap.

Moreover that's what we should do.

Zero use burning our cap space this summer to get mid tier upgrades that'll get us to 35 wins. We need to get that 2025 lottery pick, that is the most valuable asset of ours this year, and then we can make moves in 2025.

Acquire assets acquire assets acquire assets.

There isn't much of anyone worth signing left anyways.

Keep Miles. Sign Highsmith and a big, call it a day.

I like to sign Trent or Beasley//Martin and a back up C.
Would be nice to not completely suck and change the direction and culture.
I get that the goal is to keep the lottery pick though and give them another year to develop.

The new stadium renovations will be done in 2025 so they probably want to be actually good next summer.

I would like to sign Melton. Is he gone?

If not Trent Jr.

Now that Jalen Smith is gone, I'd like Achiuwa.
It has been written...

Like this. Pending what we gave up (if anything), he's a solid young 3&D guy on a reasonable contract. Hopefully we took advantage of the Mavs having Klay stars in their eyes.

The prophecy has been fulfilled.

Assuming we can get Miles back on a reasonable number, not a bad depth chart.
Mann as the bench scorer is a better role for him.

LaMelo - Micic- Reggie Jackson
Green - Mann - NSJ
Miller- Martin - Poku
Miles - G. Williams - Salaun
Mark - Nick - (Vet)

Two-Way: Leaky, Amari, KJ Simpson
Cuts: Bertans, McGowens

One of the deepest teams since the OG Hornets.
