LeBron James Reached Out To Klay Thompson At Start Of Free Agency

Klay Thompson is receiving interest in free agency from the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers. Thompson receiving a recruiting pitch from LeBron James when free agency opened.

"LeBron James, I'm told, called Klay Thompson right when free agency opened at 6:00 PM eastern," said Adrian Wojnarowski on Sports Center.

Wojnarowski expects talks on Thompson to go into Monday without a resolution on Sunday evening.

Klay would be a great addition to the Lakers, and it would be good fot Klay - coming home, and competing for a Championship.

Klay is not gonna sign for the MLE though, so the question is, what do the Lakers send to the Warriors to make it worth their while to sign and trade?

Last time LeBron recruited a named player to the Lakers, they got Westbrook.

Yeah I’m sure LeBron reached out “at the start of free agency”. He waited for free agency to begin to reach out lol,

Warriors will take what they can get. They don't have leverage, their guy is leaving. So they either get something, or they get nothing. Anything is better than nothing. Anything can be traded away, waived for cap room, or used.

Players don’t have to wait until free agency starts to reach out to other players…

Anything is not better than nothing. Bad contracts are a liability. Ask the Bulls how trading away Zach LaVine is going. If it's not something useful the Warrriors are better off maintaining their cap flexibility.

Looks like Mavs are the front runners to sign Klay. Luka / Kyrie / Klay would be a potent trio. And Klay has a better chance at another ring in Dallas than in LA.
