Waxahatchee on this band list feels like an iPhone autocorrect.

Definitely the most out of place overall. But not that far off from Bright Eyes, Slaughter Beach Dog, Dr. Dog. Prolly playing because most of her band is from Chicago now.

Reminder that BBC will be uploading a ton of Glastonbury performances over the next several weeks, as always.

This would have been amazing to experience live. Man.

I like the Talking Heads, but I had favored Byrne's experiments away from the group. I have most of the Heads records. BUT I just watched Stop Making Sense. Major re-evaluation going.

HBO just added the doc to circulation and because of that, Bomani re-iterated his stance that the Talking Heads are the greatest American rock group. Figured now was as good a time to watch it. Went in with the pre-conception that the movie was going to be self-indulgent. I knew Byrne came from RISD and the big image from the movie is the giant suit. Figured on pretension.

Brother, I figured wrong. There's little set dressing, decidedly modest costuming, simple lighting and a band kicking mucho ass. Knew Bernie was working the keys, but one-half of the Brides of Funkenstein were on backing vox. Basically, this was a twitchy version of P-Funk minus whatever lore Uncle George cobbled together.

Yup loved the Talking Heads, never got into Byrne’s solo stuff. Stop making Sense had Bernie Worrell of Parliament-Funkadelic on keyboards too. Haven’t rewatched the new release of it but loved it when it came out

Love Corey Taylor. I've always really liked Stone Sour, really going back 20+ years now. Never a big Slipknot fan enough to put them on a playlist, but I won't skip if they show up in Youtube. I think Taylor's solo stuff this year has been really, really great.

That said, you can't put out this cover if you're gonna sound so bland and generic compared to Ozzy.

Yuck.

They're all great, love him to bits.

I feel like I find myself spontaneously bursting into Son of Sam whilst walking down the street on a monthly basis.

Album of the year for me right here:

Real heavy on peak AT40 Reagan-Bush era vibes. Feels like everything belongs where it should. Immaculate craftsmanship without being overtly fussy aka Wes Anderson Syndrome. Gargantuan hooks. Indebted to the 80s yet transcends the source material.

Her pop is Pino Palladino. That either means the world to you or absolute dick.
