The cap is so pathetically and needlessly complicated that it makes following the offseason annoying. I have no idea what we can or can’t do. I don’t even know if this guy is right but I have no choice but to go by what he says.

I think the NYK will trade Burks in a S&T to a 3rd team as part of the Mikal Nets trade and we'll then have access to our full MLE ($12m) which we'll use to get a guy like Goga or split on two guys. Then we'll also try to retain Precious on a 2-year or 3-year deal using our bird rights for added depth and to be used as a future trade chip (salary matching). Leon is all in... he's probably willing to go into the 2nd apron to maximize our title chances this season and next. He was willing to do it for iHart...

We have way to much salary to go under the luxury tax to use the Full non tax paying MLE but you are right they could sign and Trade either Precious or Burks in a trade to create more cap on the books. They would need to also send out the money in the Nets trade to hard cap them at the 2nd apron.

It's doable, but it won't be easy.

Our team is set at every position besides center. If we’re going for a ring now, which we seem to be, we have to push all our chips in.

Cant expect to win sh*t with Jericho, Precious, and the 58th pick backing up Mitch (or actually starting if/when Mitch gets hurt again).

What other centers can we get with Deuce and some combo of Pacome, Rokas, Was/Det 1sts, and 26/30 swaps?

I think we drafted Kolek in part so we can trade Deuce, who became eligible to be traded literally yesterday. 6 months after he signed his contract. Not a coincidence. We had to have known Isaiah was leaning elsewhere. I dont think Deuce’s value is going to get much higher than it is right now if he only plays 12 mpg this season.

Kessler would be too good to be true under Thibs. He’s literally the best rim protector in the league according to the stats, and Thibs’ whole defense relies on funneling guys into somebody like him.

There's still Kessler and Richards, but the first would require dancing with Ainge which sucks, and it's extremely hard to tell if the second is a good player or not. We have a lot of time to be let down again.

We can’t trade those picks because the stepien rule though. could offer a pick swap in 2026 and 2030 I guess. We traded the 2028 pick swap to the nets

I stand corrected. McBride, Rokas and 2026 swap and the Det FRP, and Wash FRP then. McBride has strong value.

We also have the draft rights to the 4 rookies we just drafted. McBride alone should be able to get us a guy like Kessler, if we want to go that route. If Ainge would take McBride alone, then that swap would make sense because Kessler gives us 24 mins while McBride probably gives us 10-15 mins.

Not a chance when you deal with the likes of Ainge.
