Wish Portland still had Brogdon, would def add the 2nd 1st for both him and Grant

Make this a tank year. Don't pick up anybody else on any kind of big contract. Let Davis go for as many stats as he can get to make his value as high as it can be (forget winning, just go for those padded stats) - than trade him next year when his value is at it's highest.
Let Bronny get as much play time as he can to make his old man happy (why not even let him be a starter).
Next year, hopefully Lebron will finally retire (after getting to play a season with his kid, with lots of playing time). Trade Bronny (if there's any interest). Trade AD. Trade pretty much everybody (maybe even the front office) and start a complete rebuild.
Like people always say, LA normally doesn't have to worry about getting people to play for them, and a complete / fresh rebuild might be a good way to get a few really good high-profile players who want to get together and make the next iteration of LA their team.
Right now there really isn't any realistic way for LA to compete with the top teams in the West, so just use this year to set themselves up for the future.
1. The Lakers can’t tank. The Pelicans have our pick.
2. Bronny isn’t a priority and is a project. They drafted him to have a feel good moment with his dad. He needs a few years in the G league, and should not be getting regular NBA minutes.
People are making WAY too much about Bronny. The way a lot of folks on the boards talk, youd think the lakers moved up in the draft to select Bronny with a lottery pick. The way a lot of folks on the boards talk, youd think the Lakers didnt use their first round pick selecting Dalton Knecht. Guys... they drafted Bronny with the 55th overall pick! Yall are aware there are a total of 60 picks in the draft right? Yall are aware that the value return rate on 55th overall picks is mathematically insignificant right? Yall understand that the Lakers could literally buy a spot that low in the draft for like 2 million bucks right?
People are either being disingenuous about them drafting Bronny because they wanna troll... or theyre misinformed about the draft.
Gotta agree here. They played a shady card to make sure they got him, but they didn't burn an asset. It was the 55th pick in a 58 pick draft! I'm guessing if there was another player they had eyes on they could have just signed as a UDFA

i was begging for the lakers to try and trade for Brogdon last year. I kept hearing that Brogdon was happy in Portland and didnt want to be traded... now hes gone. sometimes this **** gets a little silly

Not a Lakers fan but I think Markkanen in his prime could be a great pick up, not sure if they can afford him though, probably not. A core of LeBron, AD and Markkanen with a couple of shooters could potentially do well.

if you read up on the Klay decision, one major difficulty was that the Warriors had no interest in taking back DLo, so this is a non-starter

Dude I would love to trade for Markkanen, but i cant imagine the lakers have enough the war chest to acquire him. im sure it would cost multiple first round picks in addition to good players. probably at least 3 frp's. Not even sure the Lakers have that many picks to trade.

Re: Lakers Fans - Who Would You Like LA to Pick Up Now
Buzz is Bulls were willing to attach a pick to LaVine. How about DLo, Rui, and Christie or Gabe for LaVine? They're not all expiring but the Bulls keep their pick and get a ton of salary relief.
Then sign Bridges and/or Trent with the LeBron cut.

Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

if there was a reasonable promise of ring that might be a thing. but there isn't, and vets played for lebron in a different era. he was younger, and they willingly took that in exchange for being pidgeonholed to his whim
i'll bet even klove wont play in los angeles, and he was like the ONLY superstar who willingly dropped everything to play with lebron. so this is now 6 or 7 years and the lakers have lure JACK with the incentive of playing with lebron
so this is my biased anti-lebron stance...despite everything players like westbrook A LOT. he plays hard. he also got F****kkked @lal. blame is not the point - there are plenty of people to point fingers and it starts with lebron/ad/westbrook. but westbrook took a MASSIVE amount of blame. MAGIC, in fact, blamed westbrook for everything. he layed it all at westbrook's feet. westbrook is the one who had to change, NOT LEBRON. and it only reinforced the idea that lebron is teflon and you will take all the SH***

Re: Lakers Fans - Who Would You Like LA to Pick Up Now
The problem with Demar is you have to make him the focal point or else he's a negative. He has to be the primary ball handler to maximize his ability.
However, the Lakers are actually a pretty good team around Demar:
Reaves
Knecht
Demar
Lebron
Davis
Is really good spacing.

Seems to defeat the point of a team specific vs general board but as long as any team fans can do it….most will likely have the good sense and courtesy not to though.
