Yeah, what if Josh Green pulls a Kenny-Atkinson.

I'm not sure exactly how, but what if?

Surely they’d move Micic before Mann?

Yup, Mann is ahead of Martin and Micic for future plans with this roster.

I don't mind taking him into cap space, I'm pretty unthrildled with trading 2nds for that but there's at least a path to it paying off

Unfortunately I think NSJ gets buried as do the majority of fringe scoring SGs that don't have another skill.

Melo/Micic
Green/Mann/spot minutes for Miller

is probably our guard rotation when healthy.

Which is fine, NSJ will find minutes when we have injuries and if he plays well then he has a case for us letting Mann walk in FA next summer if we feel like he is ready. I would rather not do the Bouknight thing again and just assume a guy will take over a role like we did when we let Monk walk.

Seems like a role player. Surprised we were willing to spend the money.

Short term he's a starting guard and fits perfectly given the type of contributions he'll make that the team has been missing.

Size for position? Defense? Spacer? Connector?

He's under contract longer than Cody Martin, so I see Green as the longterm wing off the bench rather than starter at guard/wing.

He's solid in all the areas required for playoff-caliber bench players, but nothing special like our pillars.

We can continue searching for a high-end perfect-fitting piece between LaMelo & Miller. That doesn't stop today.

So in 2 years, Micic is also gone.

Green, Mann & NSJ are going to outlive Cody & Vasa.

You could have a playoff bench someday Iike this:

Mann - PG2
NSJ - SG2
Green - SF2
Salaun - PF
G. Williams (small ball) - C2

LaMelo
Mystery Studmuffin
Miller
Miles
Mark

All sitting on top of 7 tradeable first round picks, a stockpile that will look like the runner-up poor man's version of OKC's draft cupboard (a good thing).

Devin Booker please.

Is he some lockdown defender that I have been blind too?

I dont like it.

I'm on the fence due to the three years and the fact he hasn't really shown out in any real way. It's a small gamble I suppose though I think the risk is worth it given he will never be an untradeable contract. Maybe he just needs an opportunity he was never going to get in Dallas.

Totally irrelevant but it's great to finally have a playable Aussie on our roster!

This has to mean we're getting rid of some of our guards. We have like.... 7 of them?

My guess? Micic

I hope not. He's the one guy who knows how to pass and get others involved. Reggie Jackson and McGowens are the no brainers to move/trade/cut/whatever.

Reggie plays defense though. I like Reggie Jackson + whatever draft capital we can get for Micic over Micic.

Reggie is 34, clearly doesn't want to be here and is on an expiring contract. If Vasa plays well we have him under contract next year if we so choose. I doubt his defense will hold up this year given his age.

I seen Mann replacing in 1 year as PG2.

Micic has 2 years and sits at peak value.

Reggie stays

Finally got an Aussie!

Green is a good defender who Dallas hoped would develop into something more. His scoring was a little inconsistent, hopefully a fresh start helps his growth.

Rather keep Vasa thank you very much. It's looking like a day care here otherwise.

Read on Twitter

Also, Warriors just signed Melton to a 1-year rental for about Josh's salary. So we probably would've ended up paying someone older the same money anyway to be our 3&D guy. And we get to do the same thing DAL did for when we need a contract and a young guy to ship out for that big-name FA Jeff talks into signing. So, nice job ... just hope that post-ASB slump didn't come from him learning the Mavs tried to trade him ... to us.

I'd keep Micic over Mann, if we had to choose.

He's a very good passer, and he's a good veteran leader to have.

Mann doesn't have a standout skill and he's role is more easily done by Green. We don't have anyone else like Micic.

Woj said the Mavs are sending 2 2nds to Golden State.

So did we not send anything?

That's how I read it as well. That we're just taking Josh Green. OK.
