Utah gets a wing upgrade. We get a stretch pf + 2 future 1st. Sets us up for a major trade in the future.

There is no way Utah is trading away their own draft capital when they aren't trying to win.

I saw a rumor they were trying to go after legit pieces to make a run at PG.

They might be in playoff mode.

All I've seen is that they want to move off Markannen, which is the opposite of being in playoff mode.

Sacramento- Rumored to be in Ingram, but some waivering if he is actually available. Kings have Huerter/Barnes/Lyles to match up salary wise.

Clippers- Chasing Klay, Demar. Could see them flip back to us. PJ Tucker, Norman Powell and Terrence Mann are moveable contracts.

Lakers - Chasing Klay, Demar. Could see them flip back to us. DLo, Rui, Vando, Vincent are all moveable contracts.

Utah- rumored to like him and maybe sign him outright. but could prefer to SnT to maintain cap space for Markkanen extension.

Outside of that I think returning to Charlotte is really likely, unless we really decide to pass on him hard and force him to sign for the MLE somewhere for a year.

Great summary. I’d be MOST interested in a swap for Markkanen, my first choice in a S&T, as I agree he’s a great fit here. Next could see Hacimura as part of some deal, but not sure our new cabal would be keen on it. Don’t want anything the Clippers have (yard sale players at this point and picks would be way off into the future). The Kings would love to offload Barnes and Lyles, but do they really help us? Give me Barnes and Devin Carter and maybe we’re talking.

Same with Devin Carter and the Kings. I think their offer would likely be Barnes, Huerter and a few 2nds for Miles.

There's zero reason for us to do that deal. We got firsts for clearly inferior players in Rozier and PJ.

If that's our best offer I'd prefer to sign him outright and look to deal him at the deadline. $20-$25 million per season is starting to look more and more likely than the $30 million per season it looked like two days ago.

Your team signing a good player with baggage that includes hitting his wife is like finding 10$ in a pile of dog poo.

It is hard to be to happy about it. I am not shocked that the big offer did not come. Glad to see we have not done anything stupid so far.

20-25 million would be so so ideal for the economic health of this organization.

Stunning peripheral piece for the young core of LaMelo, Miller, Mark, Salaun, 2025 lottery pick

Guys like Grant and Green adding deeper layers of veteran stability.

Their bridge to the bright future will be built on the backs of these vets (including Miles), leading the way for the high end talent we possess in LaMelo, Miller, and (I think) Mark Williams.

Sure if they're willing to send Austin Reaves plus one first round pick?

Why not?

Im just ready for this situation to be resolved one way or the other. Miles is a scumbag and i hope he gets traded, but im not gonna fault the organization for handling this however ends up being best for business.

8 guards?

I like Vando/1st honestly. Wing defender moves Miller back to SG.

Austin Reaves for Miles and a first would be a freaking God send lol

Yeah but you and I both know the Lakers would never trade Reaves for anything less than a star.

Only 1 of those 8 is a legit #3 scoring option though. Reaves is a bucket.

Vanderbilt is nice but no more useful than Thor is to Greensboro Swarm.

That archetype is definitely missing from our roster though.

Miles is useful as #3 scoring option. Have to replace it.

Got to return us a PF in a S&T for Miles, as Salaun is no where near giving us minutes. Hachimura and goodies?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Ideally Reaves + Rui + draft pick.

Realistically, it'll probably be Russell + Rui + draft pick (or no picks).

But the Lakers will 100% low ball us and try to have Klutch force the trade.

So Russell + Vanderbilt + 2nd for Miles is what it'll be. LeBron takes a pay cut to make the money work.

Again I think we tell LA, Miles and Rich Paul to politely go coit themselves if they think this deal gets it done.

I would so take Reaves Rui and a draft pick for Miles. We would make the playoffs after that trade.

I am very high on Reaves basketball IQ playmaking and ability to make others around him better.

And his contract is amazing. Lakers aren't letting him go for that reason.
