The only issue I have here is if it was Mitch vs iHart, Precious, Deuce, and the 189 cap.
Having said that, if we can still finesse something here to go up to the 189 hard cap, then keeping Mitch aka our best answer to Embiid was always a must.

We pretty much have to keep Mitch now unless he gets packaged with Randle for a star big which is not likely to happen

Unintended consequence -- if I understand this hard capped stuff, we don't want to move Deuce, but I think we will have to move Sims to enable us to have some financial flexibility. Maybe I am wrong and we can use Diakate, but we could actually be losing 2 of our 4 centers from last year and Precious is not a promise to re-sign.

I don't know cap numbers, but I expect them to scour the market and land another center. They hit paydirt with iHart. Maybe they can do it again

The way the team played in January was beautiful. Shart was part of that. I wanted more of that plus Mikal. It sucks we have to pivot but, Mitch is not some scrub either He doesn't do what Shart did for us though and his health has been shaky to say the least. It was a perfect tandem at the position honestly. That's the worst part.

Oh well. I'm on to the Nick Richards portion of the show. I don't know anything about him but, offensive highlights are kinda cool.

What were you even watching dude lol

His floaters exasperated Embiid, it's automatic... up 3-2, in Game 6 we led by 22pts early but Philly stormed a comeback and had a 10pt lead in 3rd quarter, we were struggling to score, momentum was on Sixers, but then Divo came to life, then iHart had a few floaters, and the rest of the team finally got going... and we went from expecting a likely Game 7 to we're wrapping this series now and it wouldn't have happened without his OFFENSE

His team defense is SUPERB, was the Game 2 sealing block on Maxey questionable defensive IQ too??

I trust Thibs when it comes to developing C's.
My issue is that sometimes the management crew thinks they have something when they don't
Entering last season without a true back up PF was a big mistake.

Seeing that video montage I recalled some of the blocks but I forgot just how many good defensive stands he made against Embiid.

Philly probably lost 2 games due to Mitch frustrating the hell out of Embiid to point Embiid injured him in retaliation. I will leave it to karma to set Embiid straight

We don't forget how Mitch ate Embiid, but it took Embiid only 2 seconds to injure Mitch. We only worry he can't stay healthy.

Or we could reactivate one of the retired Detroit bad boys to even the score for us. 30 seconds of playing time, and and Mitch will have his revenge. LOLOL

We should have tried to get that 3rd year. Wasn't anything personal from him. The Knicks would have matched this contract if they had the cap space, and he would have come back for it, maybe for a little less. He deserved that contract. Came into the league as a minimum guy, wanted to stay with the Clippers, and we only signed him cause the Clippers tossed him away.

He earned what we paid him and more, so I respect that. Wish him the best. Maybe we'll meet in the finals. That would be fun. (as long as we win).

agreed i'm just saying it wasn't some bargain contract at the time. we paid him fair value i think. he clearly outplayed his contract though - at least in year 2.

I agree with you, though NBA contracts have been weird with overpays and teams with limited cap space. I-Hart was 23 years old when NY signed him, and he showed potential. It was a good mid-level contract signing. People said so at the time.

Thank you for your service. Can't be mad that OKC vastly overpaid for him.

Knicks aren't getting out of the first round with their crappy center rotation

Let's agree to disagree. Knicks still have a sexy team. I'd try to sign the best center they can and bring back precious. I think they can do both. That would give them good depth.

Not including that third year in his contract feels like malpractice now.
