I would rather sign a player who is actually a center. That isn't Thad, as much as we may all like the guy.

Is he not? It’s basically all he’s played the last 3-4 seasons. :dontknow:

He may play center but if he isn't bigger than iJax or Obi he isn't the wide body we need to add.

235 is surprisingly heavy for nba players, yall. Like, that’s 20 pounds heavier than Jalen Smith was listed at, annd almost 30 pounds heavier than Jackson is listed. And he always played strong.

I guess the question is are we looking for a high flier to protect the rim, or just a strong body? Hugh flier will probably cost more money.

I'm wanting someone who can for example keep Zubac off the boards.

Zubac is only 240. But even then, it’s an awful lot to hope for a minimum salaried 3rd string center that can keep Zubac off the boards. :dontknow:

Why don’t you call your IU buddy Thomas Bryant ??
6’10” 245lbs —who might still have gas in his tank

Or your older IU friend Cody Zeller ??
6’11” 240lbs

Goga got more than what we can safely pay to avoid tax. OT may be the only option and it kills two birds with one stone by opening a second two way

Bismack Biyombo?
Robin Lopez?
Omer Yurtseven?
Cody Zeller?
Javale McGee?
Mike Muscala?

Muscala might be the most expensive as he might take over a minimum... $4m? The rest are likely all vet minimum guys. :dontknow:

Maybe? Just feels like he’s much more of a developmental guy that NEEDS minutes at this point of his career. He can’t just sit for a couple weeks and then hop in ready to play. He really needs somewhere he can get 20 minutes a night consistently so he can learn to actually play, in my opinion.

I think you're exactly right,... he is a development guy that still has the potential to be a starter at some point,... but,... I think he would be happy to have coaches that actually work with him,.. on his development, to become a better player. Kerr isn't known for developing youngsters,...playing youngsters,...well,.. even admitting that his roster has youngsters. Monty's known for team development, but not really player development.

If he could get a group that actually cared about helping him get better to become a part of the team,... and get spare minutes,... average 6-10?.... I think he'd be happy,... I know I would after Detroit & GSW?....

If he does earn clean up minutes in a few games,... do you think we experiment a bit with I-Jax as the 3rd PF behind Toppin?...

The good part of this transaction is that we are pretty sure the Pacers coaching staff will develop him into an adequate player who contributes. This will make him more valuable as a future trade chip if necessary to move onto a different solution.

Yup,.. but we also gotta consider,.. that Myles is under contract for this year, then becomes an UFA next summer. I'm hoping that Myles isn't going anywhere. I hope he retires after spending his whole career as a Pacer,... and winning a couple of championships,... :D

With a 2 year agreement, Wiseman will still be under contract until the '26 Summer. At least gives us a legit 5 in the pipeline through next summer.
