No, it's Wright, or maybe AJJ. Patty C isn't a SG. Wright is a significant overall upgrade from Beasley, without even factoring in fit.

As much as i love the fit with Wright, he is not a starter. Maybe in the 2021 nba. Not in 2024. We need a real guy there.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I think AJ Green could actually be a good starter here. A great floor spacer, but also an underrated on-ball and team defender. I also wouldn't be against AJax, provided he shows his shooting wasn't a fluke and that his occasional spastic moments are a thing of the past.

Feel like I rather just give that spot to Gabriel or like Jay Huff or something. Wiseman thrown around here might not be the worst thing either.

I think our interest is to be part of the team after Brook is dealt and we use more switching, which he fits.

I partly wonder if the Bucks already have a Lopez deal they like, but are looking for the follow-up, Brook-replacement deal to materialize.

Green could start but I think a Delon / Green pairing is where it's at.

I do think there are some imminent trades/moves to come. But if the season started today, I think our best lineup would be:

Lillard
Green
Middleton
Giannis
Lopez

This is big news that I hadn't seen confirmed anywhere else. Basically, the 2nd apron does NOT prohibit us from aggregating salary if the end result of the trade is that we are below the 2nd apron. Aggregating salary hard caps a team at the 2nd apron so if you are currently above the apron you can aggregate salary as long as you end up below after the trade.

This opens up a ton of options for trades we really hadn't been considering. We can now look at trades with Bobby + Marjon or Pat + Bobby where we take back less money.

The Bucks are about $2.5m over the 2nd apron right now. If they can swing a trade with Portis + more salary that frees up about $10m that leaves them with enough space to use the full TPMLE and fill out the final spots with minimums and stay under the apron.

Remaining wing FA's:

Buddy Hield
Malik Beasley
Gary Trent Jr
Caleb Martin
Gordon Hayward
Alec Burks
Lonnie Walker
Luke Kennard
Cedi Osman
Talen Horton-Tucker
Simone Fontecchio
Josh Okogie
Doug McDermott
Evan Fournier
Danuel House
Robert Covington
Justin Holiday
KJ Martin
Jordan Nwora
James Bouknight
Kevin Knox
Wesley Matthews
Furkan Korkmaz
Lester Quinones
Jared Butler
Joe Harris

Most of them can't shoot or are seives on defense. I'd say Caleb Martin, Justin Holiday, or Simone Fontecchio could be maybe a nice fit, and good enough to start?

Interest in Theis would certainly indicate that they still have ideas for a Brook/Bobby trade. He can still give you 15-20 minutes at the 5 with a solid mix of rim-protection and floor spacing.

Yes, but that was also before the current versions of Boston, New York, Philly, Okc, Min and Denver. Its just a different world.

We have a pick to spend. Its pretty valuable if unprotected. We have Brook and Bobby. We should be able to get a real guy at sg.

Pretty sure we still can't move the 2031 pick, and at this point, for the love of god please don't just move it for any JAG level starting SG simply because they're available.

Heres a dumb question..

Can we use the full tpmle if we are just a little under the second apron? Or does the amount we are under the second apron dictate how much of the tpmle we can use?

I wouldn’t mind Lonnie Walker for some offensive firepower on the minimum.

KJ Martin could fill the Pat spot energy wing off the bench, got a little of that Darvin Ham in him. Dump Pat on Detroit for a future second?

Bobby + Pat for DFS gets you underneath the 2nd apron. Would just need to find a 3rd team that's willing to give some minor draft compensation for Bobby. Pelicans? Magic? Kings?

You could only use as much of the TPMLE that would allow you to stay under the apron. Remember too that you also need to fill at least 14 roster spots. So you need enough room under the apron to both use some or all of the TPMLE AND fit in another vet min.

Pat + Bobby for Grant Williams saves you about $9m. Thats close to opening the full TPMLE....

Using any of the TPMLE hard caps you at the second apron. So, no, you cannot use the full amount of the TPMLE if you are "just a little" under the second apron (assuming "just a little" < full amount of the TPMLE).

Nah, we missed our chance to squeeze a 1st round pick out of a Williams/Bobby swap at the deadline. We need to move on.

DFS and Williams both kind of suck. I think I’d just rather roll it back with Bobby and Pat if those are the alternatives.
