I saw the rumor last night and thought the same thing. I dont think they would ever offer what Ainge would want for him.

Plus, there is a big difference between them looking to move Markkanen and us "Targetting" him as the piece for us. Now we know neither is true.

I'm sure this is Ainge trying to up the price but I doubt we are going to bite.

Hey we're looking for short deals. And need an SF. True there's not nor D there lol but familiarity with our system, vet leadership, and no doubt still talent is still an upgrade at 3. He passes well, too, and it would take scoring pressure off Wemby, and give us a third legit scoring option alongside him and Devin.

A one year deal? I'd consider it. DD would then have more FA options and we would have more cap space with his and CP3's contracts expiring.

I would be for this for 1 year. I will be tough seeing him black hole half of our offensive possessions though. But I guess thats no different then what our guys did to Wemby last year LOL.

Also read a report you guys might be interested in DeRozan as a possible sign n trade.

Seems like y'all going for a playoff run this season.

Yeah I was thinking out loud about this previously. Not sure about S&T rules, like it has to be for a certain number of years or can it just be the one, but for a one year gap, I'd consider it.

I'd take back Demar on a 1 year.

It would be a very limited team, with him, CP3 and Wemby, but for one year it could work

I dont understand the Heat thing. You would want both Butler and DeRozan on your roster? That seems a bit redundant unless they really are trading Butler

I am not interested in Markkanen and only interested in Demar at the right price i.e MLE. However, I am interested in Kuzma as I think he helps to plug the gaping hole at SF. I am prepared to give up Keldon and Graham with some 2nd round filler for Kuzma.

Why would the Wizards do this? Salary cap issues.

Why for the Spurs? Kuzma would be holding down the SF spot until the Spurs can draft something better in the next draft.

Why Demar? Once more a stopgap with a chance to trade him to a contender mid-season or at the deadline.

I don't like any of these options but I do feel the Spurs should do something about SF.

To be honest, I don't mind if we keep Keldon as his value will only increase in trade if he plays up to his current standard.

Good contract, surprisingly poor 3s efficiency, especially given the volume. He's never shot above 36% - we've got Julian doing that already at a fraction of the cost. And Kuzma has averaged almost 6 attempts per game in his career, this in the context of about 14.5 FGAs per game on 45% efficiency overall. Those are chuckasaurus numbers, and attempts per game along the lines of Wemby and Devin. While we can rein in the shot selection, maybe, the efficiency is what it is - not great which does not really fill the need as there is not the 3 and D.

Sorry, thought his shooting was better than that. I guess we will be rolling with Keldon then,

Keldon looks to be one of our better more attractive trade candidates, alongside a couple of others ie/we suddenly have a glut of guards.

I'd be sick if we came into this season with Julian still starting. It just can't be. At the very least make him a secondary bench option. That's good value for his contract and appropriate for his contribution. The good thing if he stays is that having started he can better cook versus opponent back ups, hopefully.

But yeah with Keldon starting there was only so much ball to go around which stagnated movement and hampered our D. And so the search for a proper 3&D SF continues, even a short term fix for one year like CP3.

I think Castle and Sidy can fill in spot minutes at the 3 after Kelson but we need a proper 3&D vet there and so to get something you have to give up something. Keldon for a one year rental is too rich but again we have a lot of options.

I think Keldon is still our best option at SF even though he has frustrated the hell out of me. He just needs to be held accountable for stupid things he does each night which I dont think our coaching staff has done since he was on Team USA. If he is kept in check and realizes he is a piece and not The Man he would be fine.
I think I remember a game last season where he got benched for something. We need more of a "play the right way or else" attitude with him like that.

However, if we are making any trades and need to match salary he is pretty much the only option we have to move. I doubt we are moving Vassell and his contract is the only one similar.

That is my point. For Keldon, he has to do 3 things to be the regular starter at SF:

1. Be more efficient, i.e. both 2's and 3's which in turn leads to my next point;
2. Play within the system i.e. Wemby is no.1, Vassell is No.2, you are number 3 if you are playing with them and no.1 or 2 only if you are playing with the bench.
3. Put effort into fitting into the defensive scheme. We are not asking him to be all NBA D, just be competent.
