If Xavier Tilliman signs elsewhere, I wouldn't mind if the Celtics signed Tristan Vukcevic and try to develop him with Anton Watson. Cheap with upside.

Queta is going to be a presence this year. He'll be fine as a non "out" option in the offense. While not explosive like Rob, he is also not as hesitant to attack as a cutter and low post option. He won't let the defense let up on him.

Saric. He signed for the minimum last year with the warrriors. Hopefully he'll sign for min with us to ring chase.

Need another big who can shoot the 3. With KP out for the first part of the season and Queta and Kornet both being non-shooters.

My preference for a veteran big man signing to shore up the front court depth:
1) Tillman
2) Saric
3) Daniel Theis
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Eh, no thanks. Then you've basically got 3 bigs you're trying to develop at the same time (Vukcevic, Watson, Queta) along with developing Springer, Scheierman and Walsh.

That's too many young guys to try and develop at the same time..maybe a rebuilding lottery team can develop that many young guys at the same time. But we're trying to win championships here.

If we don't bring back Tillman, my preference is Saris or Theis..

That's ten minutes of old man finishes right there. With that flat line drive jumper, that's pretty much what I would play like if I was a 6'10" Croatian dude.

Queta could be shooting threes this season. He's been practicing them for a reason. This is a possibility.

If 54th pick Anton Watson miraculously was good enough to play in Boston during the nonPorzingis months, it'd still be on a 2 way. He's not a candidate for a regular roster spot now.

Precious would be a super-Brissett, but why would he go to a team where he'd be buried on the bench?

Tillman maybe... maybe Tillman.

I've been after Saric for his passing+shooting at his size, but I would bring back Tillman first. I don't think Saric holds up in deep in the playoffs on defense like Tillman did. If Tillman can shoot from the corners, he's a steal. If not, he's still a very good defensive big who can hit an open layup if needed.

Let's bring back X - and if things break right, it opens up bench possibilities like Tillman/Watson could def play together if the shooting comes around for them.

Watson will probably play even less than Walsh has this year. We are loaded, if he has to get minutes for us we will be in trouble.

FUN FACT: Donovan Mitchell is the 73rd All-Star in their prime that the Miami Heat has fantasy-signed in free agency or fantasy-traded for in the last 5 years. That's the most in NBA history.

Anton is a 5 yr college guy, do I'd say "pleasant surprise" over "miracle" if he plays any minutes.

If Brad had picked my guy Chomche at 54, maybe that would be a miracle. 8-)

Queta may also surprise, we'll see. Best option is Tillman. It's really 8th (with KP out) or 9th man role, so there can be minutes for a Precious, or a Saric. If none of the above are interested, I'd be interested in Tristan Vukcevic. I'm a degen.

Something to watch out for... Robert "Timelord" Williams III could be a buyout candidate in 2025-26 if he isn't on a contender. Celtics would be eligible to sign him by then.

Sorry, but after reading the last few pages, it's Tillman.Or bust.. I like tillman over all the rest Because he is the most switchable.. Might be As good as a passer and baseline shooter as well.

No news about other teams having interest in signing Tillman so far. Before the Celtics traded for him, it was reported Suns and Rockets had interest in acquiring the ex-Grizz big.

From a Mazzulla ball analytics perspective, an out-of-left field option if Tillman leaves could be signing Oscar Tshiebwe to a guaranteed roster contract and see if the Pacers match. He is a Pacers restricted free agent who led the G last year in both OReb and DReb.
