Blazers Lakers
Portland trades Grant and Williams
Portland receives Reaves, Hachimura and Vincent
- they get Reaves, Sharpe backcourt, younger at the wing and since they drafted a centre, they trade 3rd option.

- Get better at the wing and a centre to allow AD to play PF. Starting lineup Russel, Grant, Lebron, AD and Williams
You may add picks were needed

PDX doesnt want Reaves. Give us picks.
Grant + Reath for Rui + Reaves + 2029 FRP + 2030 Swap.

Re: Blazers Lakers
Portland's motivation is for picks.
They don't need to make any moves for they are under the tax line and on pace for a 30-35 win
season that hopefully will yield them another top 5 pick in the 2025 draft

If it’s picks you want, then Grant + RW3 for Rui + Russel + 2029 FRP + 2030 Swap, I’m happy with that.

Would you give Grant + RW3 for Russel + Rui + FRP 29 + Swap 30?

I dont want Russell to make our G spot even more crowded.
The market is pretty dry - Grant and Reath should be able to snag a pick and a swap IMO.

Russel is in to match salaries and it’s an expiring contract

Would probably have to be a very well protected first to also get a swap.
As for Russell clogging the guard doors, sure. Re trade him or buy him out. He can be expiring filler, but some teams would be happy to have him. He’s or terrible, and he hasn’t been reported as any sort of a locker room issue, and Portland fans were recently talking about the benefits of keeping a vet guard around all year before they traded Brogdon, so clearly there’s a fit somehow.

Do the '29 Pick & the '31 Pick, and you got yourself a deal.

Portland trades: Grant + Timelord
Lakers trade: Russell + Vanderbilt + Vincent + 2029 1st (unprotected) + a 2030 swap (lottery protected)
Blazers could then re-route Russell to a 3rd team for a future draft pick or two. They could also just waive Vincent

I would do this.
What about even bigger -
Grant + Timelord + Thybulle + Reath for Russell + Vando + Vincent + 2029 FRP UNP + 2031 FRP LP
Sign Tyus Jones to the MLE and the Lakers are looking at -
G - Tyus Jones / Austin Reaves / Vet Min
G - Matisse Thybulle / Cam Christie / Cam Reddish
F - Jerami Grant / Dalton Knetch / Cam Reddish
F - LeBron James / Rui Hachimura / Anthony Davis
C - Anthony Davis / Robert Williams III / Duop Reath

My rationale for Rui instead of JV, was I preferred JV defensive ability and IQ for Lakers whilst I think Rui needs more consistent minutes to develop which he would get in Portland. But either is fine for the return of Grant + Timelord

Re: Blazers Lakers
I like all of these trades because they're good for the Blazers, but I never understand why the Lakers are giving up picks into the 2030s to go from the 7th best team in the West to the 5th best team.
I mean, I hate the Lakers so I hope they do something like this (doesn't even have to be with the Blazers!), but I can't imagine fans or the front office want to throw away their entire future.

Re: Blazers Lakers
Does Timelord have positive value?
If LBJ is still open taking less, then I think that stealing Mo Wagner for the MLE or slightly less is a better move.

This makes alot of sense especially if ORL doesnt like any guards and is willing to go for a tryout w/ Russell.

With all his flaws Russell is an improvement over Cole and at worst he is expiring

Blazers may ask for more (future lotto protected) but it’s close to the foundation for sure.

Definitely not. At 41 games played over the last 2 seasons, and another $25.6M over the next 2 seasons he's closer to an albatross of a contract than a positive one.

I believe he has little value at this time but definatley could see a win-now team trading for him at the DL if he has proven health.
