CLE-ORL-WAS Trade

Post#1 » by Frichuela » Tue Jul 2, 2024 4:03 pm

*CLE trades Garland and receives Kuzma, Black and ORL 25 1st.
*ORL trades Black, Cole Anthony, Houstan, ORL 25 1st, DEN 25 1st and ORL 27 1st and gets Garland and Kispert.
*WAS trades Kuzma and Kispert and receives Cole Anthony, Houstan, DEN 25 1st, ORL 27 1st.

Orlando trades draft capital and goes for contention adding much needed shooting and playmaking with Garland and Kispert. A Garland/KCP/Franz/Banchero/Carter starting 5 with Suggs, Kispert, Issac off the bench is a young and promising contender in the East.

Cleveland reshapes the roster, losing Garland but adding Kuzma and Anthony Black to the mix, in addition to ORL 25 1st. A Mitchell/Strus/Kuzma/Mobley/Allen starting 5 with Levert, Black and (a resigned) Okoro off the bench would be a powerful defensive team with size.

Washington trades Kuzma and Kispert for additional draft capital.

I guess ORL would be pushing for some protections on their 25 and 27 1sts...which would have to be negotiated.

Easy no for Cleveland. Kuzma is a bad fit in Cleveland. He would fill the Dean Wade role off the bench and he wouldn't be happy with that. Black might not be in the rotation come playoff time. The only thing this does for the Cavs is make Orlando much, much more difficult to deal with.

Washington shouldn't be involved at all and Orlando would need to deal Franz to get Darius.

The Cavs don't want Kuzma and the Cavs are going to be extraordinarily reluctant to send Garland to the Magic. They're a young team and he'd be perfect for them.

Kuzma would start in CLE. I don't love the guy as a player and would be reluctant to do this deal, but it's good value, and he'd absolutely play.

You are so much higher on Kuzma than I am. This is awful value and starting Kuzma at the 3 is a nightmare.

He's high usage, inefficient, and a poor defender.

No idea how a CLE-WAS deal with Garland going out didn't include Brogdon coming back to Cleveland. If they are trading Garland it would be hard to find a better replacement than Brogdon. That is a major downgrade in youth and overall talent, but I think with fit it may make the Cavs better, before even considering the additional return that would be coming their way as Garland is certainly worth far more than Brogdon.

Wash should not get 2 firsts for that package. Kispert cant spell defense and Kuzma really is an empty stat guy
