What a ****.

That happened more than 2 weeks ago.

Not a good action at all, but I doubt it's something important to decide his next contract.

This makes me think there may have been some truth to the Sungun and picks for KD trade rumor.

God I wish Ishbia would dump James Jones and hire a better GM/advisor like Bob Myers to make decisions like these.

James Jones still thinks the Suns are gonna “unlock” KD’s potential at age 37 lmfao

Perhaps they are hoping KD becomes available mid-season. At this point, so do I

That's exactly what they're hoping. If they extend those dudes then they have to wait to trade them. They're leaving it open for both guys in case we want 1 (or both) for KD/Book, along with our picks back.

I am not sure Ishbia has the balls to do it now - but if the Rockets are calling - pick up the gosh darn phone!

My remaining list would be:

1- Kyle Lowry.
2- Dennis Smith Jr.
3- Monte Morris.
4- RJ Nembhard.
5- Shaq Harrison.

Watch for any KD trades to be assessed around the trade deadline. I say this becomes significantly more likely IF (of course) thy are still struggling significantly around February.

Also KDs' extension eligibility date is July 12th, and a strong indicator of how open they'll be to trading Durant this season (around the deadline) will be if they don't choose to extend him to a long term deal beyond maybe a 1 yr extension.

I love Sengun, he’s an incredible talent. Forget KD, even if Booker wanted out, I would trade him to Houston for Sengun and picks and rebuild around Sengun (only 22 yrs old).

Though I'd prefer Covington at SF in the starting lineup with Allen moving to backup SG ideally with Lowry, Morris or D Smith Jr as backup guard, and my Ideal lineup looking like:

Beal /Booker /Covington / Durant / Nurkic.
Lowry / Allen / O'neale / Theiss or Cancar/ Plumlee.
Gillespie/ D Lee/ Dunn / Bol Bol / Ighodaro.

I will say that Gordon Hayward is probably looking much more desirable now for additional scoring at the SF if off the bench? :D

not sure if missing anybody else

All Bolts fans. FYI - I am bullish on Harbaugh and Hortz - but not sure they make the playoffs this year. That doesn't mean I am down on them - just more they had such a bleep show to recover from - especially Hortiz.

Yes, it's SO nice to have Harbaugh. This guy is doing all the practice drills WITH the team. This guy immediately turns around teams that are not that good, and usually with less talent than we have. Like the 6 win Niners to 3 consecutive NFC Championship game appearances...one win and SB appearance (and the losses were very close..some may say unlucky). From 6-10 the year before he got there to 13-3, 11--4-1 and 12-4.

The team had totally tuned out Staley....and even spoke out loud bashing him in a non direct way...after winning the 10 games and blowing the Jax game.

I expect us to be very very competitive this year. I won't be surprised if the Chargers have 12 wins. I know tons of people wanted Nabors though I had a feeling we'd take Alt...I would have been happy with either. If we can finally control the line of scrimmage, Herbert can find receivers and we can actually run the ball, and sounds like the ex Ravens Smith/Dobbs will pound it. Ladd McConkey seems like he's going to be a receiver Herbert loves too. I just hope Quentin Johnson learns how to not drop the ball and they can get something out of him. Curious if Jerry Rice's kid will be good too. Then in the 7th he took a Michigan WR so he likely knows him well and figures he can contribute. Junior Colson, his other ex player, was a great pick...best LB in the draft. Also really stacked up on cornerbacks. Seems like the main weakness is WR, but that doesn't concern me a ton if Herbert has solid pass protection. Safety depth and interior defense could potentially be other weaknesses.

But yeah, us, matt131, Skybill I think has a Chargers one. It's too bad for Slim though, that Ishbia didn't somehow figure out a way to buy the Chiefs.

I loved Ekeler but the biggest thing I will miss about these Chargers is Keenan. Hope both those guys do well in their new situations. Keenan will certainly help make Caleb Williams transition easier.

My biggest wait and see for the Chargers is the Oline and Front 7 on defense.

Long term - I am bullish on the team though.

I’m bullish on Harbaugh and Hortiz as well. Hard not to be when we’ve had awful coach after awful coach for years now. Harbaugh is, at the very least, a respected adult in the room. God, I wish I could give Staley a piece of my mind. That stubborn, arrogant SOB is so bad as a head coach.

I am always optimistic about the Chargers, but I’m trying to be realistic this year. Just sucks that we have the Chiefs in our division. If Harbaugh can put together a team that doesn’t lose to the stupid raiders and can actually beat an inferior Broncos team in Denver, then I’ll be pleased. I don’t think we can make the playoffs based on the Chiefs and the AFC overall.

I was definitely bummed that we traded Keenan. I get it from the financial side, but he was the last true San Diego Charger on the team, and it was just sad to see him go. Stoked to see what McConkey can do.

I am on the fence about Greg Roman. I really did not want him. I think Herbert is super talented, but he’s kind of slipped the past two years and I’d have loved for the Chargers to have hired a modern, adaptive, creative offensive coordinator. At the very least, I like that Roman and Harbaugh know each other and will be on the same page.

I am SUPER excited about Jesse Minter. Bright, young mind with fresh, new ideas. Gone are the days of idiot Staley staring at a 63-21 scoreboard telling us his defensive schemes worked perfectly and he wouldn’t change a thing and that we actually played better defense than the other team. I think Jesse will have the ability to adjust mid-game, play to the strength of the roster, teach concepts really well, keep game plans structured and organized for players. Breath of fresh air.

I was happy enough with the draft. I was praying that somehow MHJ would have fallen to us. I’ll admit, I think the Chargers would have still taken Alt even if MHJ was there. I think that would have sent me into a deep depression. I liked Rome Odunze second best, but Alt hopefully steps in right away and creates great pass protection and a good run game. Really liked the Colson pick too. He can be our main linebacker for years to come now.

Biggest weaknesses now are Center, CBs, and WRs. I think the offense we intend to run will not suffer from a true number 1 WR, and I honestly think Ladd will become that guy quickly. The center position scares me a bit. We’ve seen the difference between Herbert with Linsley and without. CBs are awful (some promising rookies though), but you can’t fix everything in one offseason.

I am 1000000000% more excited for the Chargers this year than the Suns. I have stopped posting here because I only have negative things to say and that honestly is not good for my mental health. We’ll see how it goes this year, but I have zero expectations for the Suns. I think they are a play-in team at best. I like Budenholzer, but I think we got him 3 years too late. I’ll be happy if they can play a fun brand of basketball again. If the tickets are cheap enough, we should get a RealGM night at one of the Valley Suns G-League games.

That time has passed. (Most) Everyone saw this coming, even right after we signed CP3, that we needed to draft a PG of the future. Hard to find a really good one in FA....it's hard to sign any top tier FA, period, which is why the draft is so important.

I know its revisionist history but Haliburton was sitting right there. He was the obvious choice.

I just don't see any decent options at PG. Dunn might have been the best of the bunch. This year is going to be interesting

Yeah, he'd be a solid alternative option if Lowry or Morris aren't a likely option. He's still young, very athletic, is strong and a tough defender. And he's a decent playmaker too. Hopefully he's on our board in the top 5.
