DFS + Cam Johnson
for
Darius Garland

If that's the price, sure, why not. But I don't think that's what most Cavs fans expect.

I'd guess it's missing 2 frps

Garland for Suggs, Anthony, 1st ?

Garland/KCP/Wagner/Banchero/Carter

Mitchell/Suggs/Struss/Mobley/Allen

Dont like it for the Magic. They have assets to make a trade for a good PG without giving up any of their core pieces, just like how the Pelicans traded for Murray without including Trey or Jones.

I'm sure that's the Cavs' expectation, which is why I said it didn't make sense. They absolutely shouldn't be giving up picks right now.

Then...they can't make any significant trades. They don't have the talent...Garland could be a building block. Probably too soon for BRK but Garland & Claxton are two solid pieces and Simmons finally goes away next summer.

Cam Johnson, DFS, Schroeder, and 2 of the 6 picks they got for Bridges for Garland, Jerome, and Niang would make sense IMO. Then Brooklyn would have at least one building block locked in longterm.

Him and Bogdanovic will be off the books. They can sign a max guy and trade some picks for other players or build through the draft.

Better than what?

Better than going 4 on 5 - obviously

Better than without him - yes

Better than they should be based on the sum of their talent - no

Better than they need to be to (likely) survive the 1st round next year - no.

The value you'd get back for Garland right now is not near his talent. You'd probably end up with a similar on-court level by trading him now, with less talent.

Nets don’t have to overpay for anything, they can easily tank. It’s the Cavs who are more desperate here.

If the Nets offer Cam Johnson + DFS + 1st, that’s pretty appealing for the current landscape.

I think that’s enough of a compromise for both sides to get a job done.

Carter, Anthony, Suggs for Garland works for both IMO now that ORL re-signed Wagner.

CLE gets two core rotation pieces to bolster their already good defense and can focus on getting a wing for Niang/Anthony/2nds (Wiggins?)

ORL get their leading guard surrounded by defense without giving up picks.

Garland/KCP/Wagner/Banchero/Bitadze
Black/Harris/da Silva/Isaac/Wagner

Mitchell/Suggs/Struss/Mobley/Allen
Anthony/Levert/Okoro?/Wade/Carter

If it was Isaac instead of Anthony it's probably closer but still probably say no. Franz Wagner, Anthony, and Isaac or Carter (magic choice) is probably closer for Cavs since Wagner and Garland are around the same age and stats.

Yeah, Garland's value can be rehabbed. The Cavs don't need to rush a Garland trade.

At this point I think cavs hold garland though I’d love to see us get Ingram. Makes more sense to hold and maybe make a move at the deadline when he has a chance to raise his value
