You have got to give Nico an A for his free agency moves. The team had no money under the cap to even resign Derrick Jones Jr.. He was still able to turn Tim Hardaway, Josh Green, and Derrick Jones Jr. into Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Quentin Grimes. It would be an A+ if they could have signed Derrick Jones Jr. instead of Naji. I also think we traded away a net three future seconds.

Luka is getting ready for tonights Olympic qualifier, i doubt he's lobbying for anyone...

But i would welcome DSJ back to see if he has any juice left. He's a strong athlete who could potentially play good defense in the right system. But he's also constantly injured...

Mo Wagner, Daniel Teis, Xavior Tilman, Chimezie Metu and so on is still available. So is Boban.

As Hartenstein gets 30m per, I don't think the Mavs could get Wagner. Teis is playing C nearly whole career. So it's Tilman, Metu, Wiseman or Lofton. But is 6-9 tall enough to guard the likes of Webayama? If not, gamble on Wiseman instead. I have a feeling Popovich will target Wiseman soon. Lofton has some success against Webayama as well. But technically, Lofton is an iso player in Boban's manner.

I hope so.

He's better and younger than Exum and then we could look into an Exum + Kleber + protected FRP package later down the road to bring Derrick Jones back.

We need legit Pf much more than DJJ back.

Agreed, but I imagine the look at free agents to fill that void vs trades. Saddiq Bey, Precious Achiuwa, Kai Jones, Dario Saric, Danilo Galinari, etc are all available and shouldnt cost more than a couple million.

We have Klay and Naji on 3, so I guess need for DJJ would represent if Klay experiment didn't work, meaning we will have Klay for trade.

He's can shoot and defend. Limit his minutes to 25 a game. He would also be great for Lively development.

Achiuwa should be the perfect back-up PF for us, i don't think he will accept our BAE but maybe 1 year for ring chasing...

No way Nico will trade Gafford for Lopez. Come on.

DJJ could play small-ball PF...

In reality though, I just want that to happen so we could potentially see a lineup of DSJ-Grimes-Naji-DJJ-Gafford off the bench as far and away the most athletic 2nd unit of all time.

Coming from a team that prides itself on ball movement and off ball movement what did Nico promise Klay Thompson about the Mavs offense thats the complete opposite of what Klay has played. We don't want Klay standing in the corner or 3 pt line like fellow statue PJ waiting on a pass . Klay needs to move around to keep a rythem. He's one of the greatest catch and shoot players BUT when he's moving without the ball.

It's baffling that great ball moving team with Klay moving around didn't make the playoffs and Mavs with statue PJ made the Finals. :noway:

Its very ignorant of you to not know that Luka has no Championship rings and that Klay has 4 of them PLAYING in a ball moving /offball team that GS was and still is . Until the Mavs win the whole thing with their offense the way it is then you have nothing to crow about .

There's no team in the history of basketball playing like Warriors, you need Curry for that. ;) Saying that, they should for sure make some plays for Klay, which is not exactly difficult with the right offensive coach. Not sure Kidd is capable of that, maybe they need some offensive coordinator. But if you believe Mavs will change the whole system because 34 old years Klay came in the team, you're mistaken. Luka and Kyrie are not Steph and they can't play like him. Klay came to hit open shots and try to play decent D, which is the problematic part.

The Mavs has 4.4M left. Is it difficult to find a DJ MBenga overseas?
