Predict our record

Post#1 » by Vampirate » Tue Jul 2, 2024 7:04 pm

I'm going 35 wins 47 losses

I think we're easily better than we were post trades (i'm not really counting the post Barnes injury stretch), but we don't have the upper overall talent obviously that we had at the beginning of the year.

Also keep in mind we went on a massive losing streak after Barnes injured his hand and sat out the rest of the season (signifying a tank). We were play-in ish beforehand.

One of IQ, Barnes should improve at least, Barrett is a question mark, Gradey should improve, we lost McDaniels.

We probably win more games now due to better depth as well.

The way the teams in the east are constructed, there are currently 8 teams who are very likely to make the playoffs/play-in:

BOS
PHI
NYK
MIL
CLE
IND
MIA
ORL

Two of these teams will make the play-in:

ATL
TOR
CHI
CHA
DET
BRK
WAS

A win total in low 30s might get you in the play-in this season. I expect the Raps to be in the fight for 9th/10th/11th/12th.

22-60. I don’t think people realize how young this roster is. They will also tank hard after the all star break.

Depending on health...I see a 0.500 ceiling, and a 30 win floor.

Need lottery luck next year.

Sim season has started!
Read on Twitter

I'll say 38 wins.

This is year 1 of the franchise turning the team over to Scottie from the start of a season.

Many wish the FO would've done it a year earlier, but once Year 3 Scottie showed up and basically hit All-Star level, the team was comfortable betting everything on his ceiling.

All that to say, if Scottie continues an upward trajectory in Year 4 and roster construction continues to emphasize him as a hub, it's going to get harder to be really bad.

If Scottie stalls, this whole thing gets blown up anyway in a couple of years.

25 to 30 wins without tanking
20 to 25 wins with tanking

Team is missing a true starting 2 way Wing player and a true backup C.

Yeaaa... I expect CHI, CHA, DET, BRK, and WAS to all be at the bottom. Maybe Charlotte can make the play-in if Ball stays healthy.. but that hasn't been the case...

It's a bit of a tough spot, because if we are worse than those bottom end east teams, then that is not a good sign for our future either. We are realistically probably looking at getting the 9th or 10th spot because of how bad those East teams aspire to be. If we are that bad, then BBQ hasn't played that well or our D is just porous. Either way, I'm not sure being that terrible is in our best interest. The only way I see it happening, is some pretty bad injuries occurring to our key guys.

I think this is the year I take the under on the Vegas line, whatever it's going to be. I can see us going for a potential stealth tank.

Not that we were great with Siakam/OG/Trent/Schroder, but we were probably better with them, than we are going to be to start this season with IQ/Barrett/Mitchell/Walter/Agbaji.

We won 25 games last year, I think that's probably about where we end up this year too. With an active tank we could get as low as 20 wins imo, ceiling of...35ish wins.

I don't see it that way. I think BBQDP is going to do fine as a starting lineup, they can probably routinely win against 40-50% of the SL's out there, which should put us in the 33-41 win range, but I think our bench is going to get routinely crushed, and that's fine. I hope Darko plays them more minutes so they can develop Walter, Agbaji and Dick with the bench at times too.

Yeah there's no chance we win this little unless they start tanking from December
