I'd be pissed if the Nets got the 2024 Frenchman.
It's a way overpay for Mikal.
I wouldn't like it if he went for Kessler, either, but at least I'd understand that.

non of those guys are really off ball defensive guards tho. Keyonte has the ball in his hands a lot...collier is a on ball guard. Sexton is as well. Clarkson I don't see long in Utah either.
Also most of those guys outside of Sexton don't really have reliable jump shots right now.
But for whatever reason if they don't want Duece...you can find a 3rd team to offer them picks package or another player they may want. I have to believe duece and his contract are a pretty coveted asset right now.
Collier did make some big strives defensively to end the season, Keyonte is still very young but has a lot of potential. They prob are gonna trade Clarkson and maybe Sexton. But to me, I feel like Utah seems pretty good with guards right now.
The main issue with acquiring Kessler from Utah is Danny Ainge. He's gonna want way more than Deuce and weak picks for Kessler. Like a Gobert type of package he got for him.
Gobert was a 3 time DPOY when the jazz traded him...Kessler hasn't even been a fulltime starter for Utah so no way would he ask for anything near the Gobert package.
I know the Jazz worked out Dadiet pre-draft...maybe you are right and they don't want a guard...but they could have interest in a 19 year old wing as part of the package.
This Danny ainge we talking about though. You underestimating this man
I guess it would depend on how high they are on Dadiet. Imo, I feel like Ainge is gonna try to rape us and we won't get a deal done with them. I'd love to be wrong though

Certainly possible Ainge can have a crazy asking price. But that would be wild for not a big time piece like Gobert or Mitchell who were big time pieces. They werr starting John Collins over Kessler last year.
But if they want to play hard ball we pivot to another option like Richards or someone like that shouldn't cost as much.

I keep saying it, but Deuce is only a 10-15 mpg player here now. Some posters still dont want to accept that. He could even lose some more minutes to Mikal, Donte, Kolek or a vet PG. His value may actually go down soon. He’s a decent young player for sure, but backup undersized SGs are replaceable.
It would be wise to cash in on Deuce now after he had a solid 2nd half of the season/playoffs. I highly doubt he’s going to get that many minutes and shots again with all the injuries we had. We are basically adding Julius, OG, and Mikal to our rotation this season.
So if we can turn Deuce and some other ish into Kessler we should do that all day. Trade Deuce for a 1st if that’s what Ainge wants. Kessler may not fit into how the Jazz want to play, but he’s perfect for us. Him and Mitch can split the C minutes, and he will probably overtake Mitch at some point. Only 22 years old and a top 5 rim protector. Get it done and we’re back to legit contenders.

This is basically it right here. We all love our homegrown players but let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here.

McBride would be great on several teams at 28-30 mins a night. 3&d guard, Caruso lite. I wouldn’t mind keeping him around if we can get Richards for seconds and the TPE

He's better than Sims, he held teams to 51% at the rim and averaged 9ppg, 8rpg and 2.5bpg in 26 minutes when he starts. Sims averaged 4ppg 5rpg in 23mpg when he started, he was also -30.
Deuce you have an argument but Pacome hasn't played a single minute yet no need to overrate him.

Let him come here and prove it and again we do not have enough assets to throw them all at Ainge for Kessler. He’s a rotational big
