Realistically, it'll probably be Russell + Rui + draft pick (or no picks).

But the Lakers will 100% low ball us and try to have Klutch force the trade.

So Russell + Vanderbilt + 2nd for Miles is what it'll be. LeBron takes a pay cut to make the money work.

Again I think we tell LA, Miles and Rich Paul to politely go coit themselves if they think this deal gets it done.

I would so take Reaves Rui and a draft pick for Miles. We would make the playoffs after that trade.

I'm referring to an offer of Russell + Rui + draft pick (or no picks)

Ah. Sorry I struggle to read sometimes.

This thread is starting to make no sense lol, everyone is on the fence about paying Miles... but we expect packages that include Lauri.. multiple firsts... Reaves and a first?

All those are crazy long shots, and if you feel like he is worth that in a trade we should have no issue giving him a market level contract.

Hopefully some more chips fall today and something Miles-related can happen. Waiting on this sucks, but they could be waiting because they're standing ground on their offer. Just wish we knew what it was. I suspect it's between $20m-$25m and Miles from a basketball perspective is worth more than that based on other deals. The market may have dinged him 10-15% for his legal and relationship instability as it adds more risk to signing him for any team.

There's a universal truth and that is the Lakers will try to lowball every deal. They are reportedly very reluctant to give up Reaves.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10125971-lakers-trade-rumors-austin-reaves-untouchable-unless-its-for-a-legit-nba-all-star#:~:text=The%20Los%20Angeles%20Lakers%20are,a%20fringe%20All%2DStar%20type.

Russell would be the piece coming back and he's set to be a free agent. Something tells me we're not dealing Miles just for cap space when he is likely to sign a below market value contract that can be moved for either draft capital or a player later.

Something is up.

We been negotiating since the Finals ended. Most of the FA big moves are already done. Please tell me what's taking so long to get a deal done?

If we can't come to an agreement by now just explore sign n trade options and move on.

I'm thinking this is the case. Miles probably searching around to see who's interested in a sign n trade.

I agree, now that FA money has largely dried up Miles is probably trying to figure out if any team has salary they'll move so he can get the salary he wants.

Takes two to tango for that to work though, and unless he wants to take less money to spite us they need to be realistic in their S&T options.

If I'm Miles, I do what Derozan is thinking of doing - take a one year deal in a spot to highlight himself and build value, then hit the market anew next summer. I don't think that spot is Charlotte. He'd do well to find a playoff team or a large market team with a high profile.

Miles has already taken massive hits to his pay the last two seasons. If he doesn't sign the biggest contract he can get this summer I think he'll end up regretting it.

This being the first year as an unrestricted, he may opt to take what he can to position himself for a bigger payday next summer. The rest was self-inflicted and he knows it.

But you may be right. The market may not like the guy no matter what he or his agent thinks of himself.

I think teams not showing interest reafirms my belief that Miles isn't seen as that great of a player around the league.

A low IQ empty stat guy that doesn't play defense and won't have good longevity since his play style relies so much on his insane athletics.

Just a decent sized fish in a small pond. Also this fish has domestic abuse history and post himself drinking lean on socials.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

Yep, I think his agency (KLUTCH) has been terrible for him. They should have got him help after the lean incident. Possibly could have avioded the DV charges.
Then should have let him sign the 3/55 deal we (supposedly) offered last summer. After getting 8 mill this year, he is going to be hard pressed to make up the rest of that money on the next contract. No one seems to value him at the numbers Klutch does.
Him not looking as dynamic this year and "contributing" to our terrible record doesn't help either.
Hopefully the Hornets can get him for 20 mill or less or work out a S/T for a decent replacement big. In that case, Saluan gets a baptism by fire and we better add another FA vet.

If he wants a one year deal I think I’d legit rather just take Caleb back and cut this dude loose cause I’m tired to the uncertainty. Maybe Miami would do a S&T or something

this is the 4th year in a row we've negotiated with him (going back to his rumored rookie extension offer of 4/60, which to be fair was low). it's exhausting. it's like lebron signing nothing but 1 year deals, except it's not lebron.

Clearly, Miles agents are actively exploring sign and trade options that might work for all involved teams. No real big money splash options realistically remain. Doesn’t mean he would like coming back to CLT, but it is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY at Klutch land.

So this takes time cause it’s complicated. They had to wait until the other destinations made their decisions. Now chairs are filling up. Who wants this troubling talent? Lakers and Golden State have missed out on improvement, but what will they offer? Who has minutes and a slot available that fits, AND can deliver us value in doing something?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

It’s like lebron except it’s not lebron - perhaps the best encapsulation of the Miles Bridges Experience ever.
